Trivia

  • Clavell uses special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon) and victory with them. Those Trainers include Florian, Juliana, Nemona, Arven, Penny, Giacomo, Mela, Atticus, Ortega, Eri, Geeta, and Jacq.
    • Clavell has the most special voice-over lines of any character in the game, having lines with teaming up and winning with 12 different trainers.
  • Clive uses special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). These Trainers include Florian, Juliana, and Penny.
    • Clive also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with Florian or Juliana on the same team.
  • Clavell (Alt.) is one of the only two sync pairs in a unique outfit able to be raised to 6★ EX that does not have an EX style, the other being Lillie (Anniversary 2024). This is likely due to the outfit being a recolor of an existing alternate outfit, his default attire.
  • Though Clive has a different name and Dex number than Clavell, they are still considered the same character and they cannot be placed on the same Trainer Lodge expedition team. They share this trait with Kukui and the Masked Royal, Brycen and Brycen-Man, and Sabrina and Bellelba.

Origin

Clavell's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Scarlet. Quaquaval is Clavell's signature Pokémon if the player chooses Fuecoco as their first partner Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Quaquaval's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Violet.

Clavell's Alt outfit design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Violet. Sprigatito is one of the first partner Pokémon of Paldea, which Clavell can give to the player at the start of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Clavell will keep Sprigatito under his care if the player chooses Quaxly as their first partner Pokémon. Sprigatito's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Scarlet.

Clive's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Scarlet. Amoonguss is a Pokémon that Clavell uses in the core series games. The pairing may also allude to the fact that Clive is a disguise, as Amoonguss disguises itself as a Poké Ball. Amoonguss's Dex entry comes from Pokémon White.
