Trivia

  • Poppy & Tinkaton's buddy move Steel-Hard Gigaton Hammer is the only buddy move that functions identically to how the base move works in the core series games.
  • All versions of Poppy use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon) and victory with them. Those Trainers include Rika, Larry, and Geeta.
  • Poppy forming a sync pair with Steelix for her 2025 New Year's attire likely references 2025 being the Year of the Snake.
  • The sync move, Steel-Hard Strength Gigaton Hammer, resembles Abominable Ice Hammer's animation used by Hala & Crabominable in Pokémon Masters EX.

Origin

Poppy's design is based on her appearance in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Tinkaton is Poppy's signature Pokémon in the core series games. Tinkaton's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Scarlet.

Poppy is not seen owning a Steelix outside this game. Steelix's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire.
