Double Trouble

This event ran from July 9 to September 17, 2020. It focused on Team Rocket and tied in to Secrets of the Jungle. Jessie & Arbok could be recruited during the course of the event.

This event reran from December 18, 2020, to January 25, 2021. The rewards were not reset from the first run.

Plot

Jessie, James, and Meowth have somehow wound up on Pasio while chasing a Shiny Celebi on their way to a jungle. Seeing Team Break is after Celebi too, they pretend to be out to protect Celebi and enlist the player's help in doing so. After defeating a Team Break member and getting another one to fall into one of their pitfall traps, Team Rocket finds Celebi cornered by Team Break. With the help of the Trainers they helped along the way, Team Rocket and the player defeat Team Break and force them to retreat, although Celebi too escapes in the process. Not wanting to leave Pasio empty-handed, Jessie pretends to join the player's team in order to gain their trust and hopefully steal their team's partner Pokémon.

Blasting Off Again

This event ran from September 17, 2020, to January 25, 2021. It also focused on Team Rocket and tied in to Secrets of the Jungle. James & Weezing could be recruited during the course of the event.

Plot

Hearing of a fireworks festival on Pasio, Team Rocket decides to use it as a cover to steal partner Pokémon from sync pairs. Their cover-up story of other bad guys attempting to disturb the festival turns out to be accidentally accurate when the player spots a group of Team Break members, who are quickly detained. While the player is busy watching the fireworks, James snatches a bunch of partner Pokémon from distracted Trainers, including the player's Pikachu. When the player notices Pikachu's absence, Shiny Celebi appears and leads them to Team Rocket. The player's Pikachu returns to its Trainer and challenges the trio to a battle, which they confidently accept after reciting their motto. Team Rocket ends up being defeated and gets blasted off, allowing the player to return the stolen Pokémon to their Trainers. Watching the fireworks, James figures he might as well help the player out, even if they are still enemies.

The Classic Thunderbolt

This event ran from July 7 to 31, 2022. It focused on Ash and tied in to the Pokémon animated series.

This event reran from August 28 to October 17, 2022. The "Ash Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Ash & Pikachu for the duration of the event

Plot

Ash Ketchum arrives on Pasio while training for the Masters Eight Tournament, meeting Scottie/Bettie and Tina on the beach. After being introduced to Pasio's style of battling by Lear, Ash decides to stay and train for a time. Later, while Tina teaches Ash about sync moves, her Flareon rebels against her out of jealousy of seeing Ash and Pikachu perform a sync move before it and Tina could perform theirs, and runs away, encountering a group of Team Break members who sway it into joining them. In the subsequent confrontation, Ash manages to convince Flareon to return to Tina, and drives off Team Break with his entire team of Pokémon. Meanwhile, at the Battle Villa, Sawyer informs Lear of Ash's progress, and Lear expresses interest in seeing how he will perform on Pasio.

Blazing Battle with Ash

Commemorative title screen artwork

This event ran from August 28 to October 17, 2022. It focused on Ash. The "Ash Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Ash & Pikachu for the duration of the event

Battles rewarded players with Event Voucher U, which could be redeemed in the Shop. Additionally, Daily Extreme Battle 1 could only be challenged once per day.

The player could battle using Ash & Pikachu to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; Lear & Hoopa, Sygna Suit Red & Charizard, or Leaf & Eevee to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and any unlisted sync pairs with the Main Character or Electric theme skill to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.

This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning medals and other rewards.

Plot

Lear organizes an event called the Single Master Challenge Cup, where Trainers who have only just arrived on Pasio get to participate in a tournament of three-on-three Single Battles, instead of the team battles that are more common on Pasio. Ash and Tina eagerly decide to enter. In his first match, Ash faces Ace Trainer Rochelle from Lilycove City, whom he defeats using his Gigantamax Gengar. Meanwhile, Tina loses her first battle and is eliminated from the tournament. In the second round, Ash defeats Ace Trainer Axel from Hau'oli City with the help of his Mega Lucario. In the finals, Ash faces Scottie/Bettie, using his Dracovish, Sirfetch'd, and Pikachu against their Torchic, Solgaleo, and Pikachu. During the battle, Red arrives to observe the match. Once Ash has emerged victorious, Red leaves the stadium and displays interest in facing Ash someday. At the awards ceremony, Lear demands Ash to battle him like he promised, which Ash happily agrees to.

Stop the Evil Mastermind!

This event ran from September 6 to 16, 2023. The "Team Rocket Variety Scout" gave players the opportunity to recruit Giovanni & Rhydon, Archer & Houndoom, Ariana & Arbok, Petrel & Weezing, and Proton & Golbat from the beginning of the event to September 27, 2023.

All battles in this event were co-op battles, and players could not use the "Create Your Own Team" option to challenge them. Players could complete missions by clearing the battles with sync pairs from certain regions, earning 5★ Scout Tickets for that region. Two new missions were made available each day for the first eight days of the event.

A special log-in bonus was held in conjunction with this event. Players could view a conversation involving Team Rocket executives or Giovanni upon logging in for the first time each day and receive 300 Gems. There were three conversations total, so players could receive a total of 900 Gems from this log-in bonus.

In addition, a special rally was held wherein all players would be rewarded with a Strike Move Candy Coin, a Tech Move Candy Coin, a Support Move Candy Coin, and a Team Rocket Executive Scout Ticket when the total number of event missions completed by all players reached certain milestones.[2] The first milestone was reached on September 7, 2023,[3] and the second milestone was reached on September 8, 2023.[4] The third and fourth milestones were reached during the weekend of September 9–10, so the rewards were distributed to players beginning on September 11, 2023.[5]

The texture should be almost exactly like the real thing!
Petrel Not terrible...but still not good enough.
Proton Hmph!
Petrel You might be able to trick someone from Kanto or Johto, but anyone from Alola wouldn't be fooled.
Slowpoke tails are used a lot in their home cooking, so they'd know exactly what the real thing tastes like.
Why don't you smoke it to hide the flavor—like they do in Galar?
Proton An excellent idea from the master of disguise himself!
You're always researching how to make something seem real.
Petrel Heh. Well yeah!

and then my evil money-making scheme is sure to succeed!

Mysterious Old Coins

This event ran from September 7 to October 1, 2024. During this event, players could take on a single-player battle against a wild Gimmighoul to earn Gimmighoul Coins. This battle could only be challenged once per day.

This event served as a prelude to the story event Golden Bonds on Pasio.

Starting on September 17, 2024, the Gimmighoul Coins earned in this event could be used in the Gimmighoul Coin Special Exchange to obtain items such as a Lear's Retainers Scout Ticket, which could be used in the Lear's Retainers Guaranteed Ticket Scout to obtain Rachel & Gimmighoul or Sawyer & Gimmighoul.

Plot

While hanging out with Paulo and Tina, the player finds an old coin on the ground in the forest. Paulo wonders if it's one of the strange coins that people have been finding around Pasio recently. A Collector approaches the player and asks if he can have the coin, but Rachel and Sawyer suddenly appear and ask if they can have the coin instead, as they're collecting those coins. The Collector challenges Sawyer's team to a battle to see who gets to keep the coin, and Sawyer's team wins. As the others leave, Tina wonders if the player should have kept the coin, since it's valuable enough that three different people are trying to collect them. Paulo then suggests that they ask around to see what other people know about these coins.

Paulo You guys are collecting them too, Sawyer?
Collector Ahem! Excuse me, but I was here first. Is that not a bit audacious of you?
Sawyer I-I'm sorry! But we have our reasons, and we'll compensate you for the trouble...
Collector Well, if that's how it is, we're all Pokémon Trainers here...
Let us decide this with a battle!

Tina Yeah, that collector, too. It must be pretty valuable...
Maybe you should've kept it after all, <player>!

Paulo I'm not sure I could find a use for it...: That's fair. We don't even know what it could be used for.

Shiny Rayquaza Appears

This event ran from December 16, 2024 to January 5, 2025. It was one of many events held across several games to promote the Black Rayquaza from Pokémon Horizons: The Series.

During this event, players could take on a Shiny Rayquaza in co-op battles to earn Event Vouchers K, which could be exchanged in the shop for rare items including Move Candy Coins. However, players could not use the "Create Your Own Team" option to challenge these battles. This Rayquaza had a larger HP bar than usual, similar to Legendary Arena opponents. The battle "Challenge the Sky High Legend!" could be challenged an unlimited number of times, but sync pairs were required to be at least level 140 to participate. The battle "Daily Challenge: Shiny Rayquaza!" could only be challenged once per day, but sync pairs only needed to be level 90 to participate.

The first time a player logged in after the beginning of the event, a brief introduction played in which the player was informed by Trista that a Shiny Rayquaza had appeared in the sky over Pasio. This introduction could not be replayed.

Rolling in Gold

This event ran from April 29 to May 7, 2025, alongside the ranked damage event Aim for the Top, to celebrate Golden Week. It was focused on the sync pair Teddy (Hiker) & Rellor.

During this event, players could complete a story area and earn Gems. Additionally, players could complete event missions by completing battles in Aim for the Top to unlock additional story areas. One story area allowed players to recruit Teddy (Hiker) & Rellor upon completion, while the other earned the player a title upon completion.

Nuggets earned from the Aim for the Top could be exchanged for items in the shop, including power-up items for Teddy (Hiker) & Rellor, Move Candy Coins, and Roll Cake Coins.

Plot

Juliana and the player arrive at the top of a mountain where a ball-rolling race is set to occur. To Juliana's surprise, many of the participants own a Rellor. She also has a Rellor, so she tells the player a little bit about it. Overhearing Juliana's expertise on Rellor, Teddy, a Hiker participating in the event, joins the two in conversation. With his own Shiny Rellor, Teddy hopes to find a teammate to battle alongside. The player beats Teddy in the ball-rolling race, but the player is impressed by Teddy's bond with his Rellor, so Teddy is allowed to join the player's team.

Name Text
Teddy Mountains are great!
Teddy It feels so good to reach the top with a heavy pack!
But when it's time to head back down, my pack a little lighter, I feel sad.
But that reluctance to leave is part of what makes hiking special!

  • A Ball-Rolling Race on Pasio
Name Text
(Mountain; a variety of Trainers with Rellor are gathered; the player and Juliana arrive)
A ball-rolling race was being held in the Pasio mountains.
Juliana Huh...
Looks like a bunch of others brought Rellor, too.
When it comes to rolling balls, I guess Rellor comes to mind!

What kind of Pokémon is it?: It's known as the Rolling Pokémon!
Is it from Paldea: Yup! My Rellor and I met in the Paldean desert.
Rellor creates a mud ball by mixing sand and dirt with psychic energy, then it rolls it around.
Florian told me the rolling matures the energy it needs for Evolution!
??? Oho! Is that so? You sure know a lot, young lady!
(Teddy walks up to Juliana)
Juliana You are...?
Teddy I'm Teddy, a hiker! I recently formed a sync pair with Rellor.
Juliana Oh? Looking at your Rellor, is it...
Teddy Aha! So you noticed!
Apparently, my Rellor is a different color!
Juliana He looks so strong with his golden mud ball!
Teddy I'm actually looking for a teammate to battle alongside.
Interested in teaming up and teaching me more about Rellor?

I want to know how strong your bond is first!: OK, fair enough!
Maybe. But first...: I see. You want to know how strong our bond is!
Then Rellor and I will show you in the ball-rolling race!

(Black screen)
The ball-rolling race ended, and <player> beat Teddy!
(Fade back to mountain)
Teddy Ga ha ha! You're tough to beat, <player>!
Juliana Yeah! You were sooo fast!
(The player nods)
Teddy Huh? You thought Rellor and I were good, too?
So you want to join me in battle, I take it? Thanks! I appreciate it!
Juliana And I'll teach you everything I know about Rellor!
Teddy Great! I'll be counting on ya!
Together, let's climb this mountain of sync pairs—and reach the summit!

  • A Trophy for Winning?
Name Text
(Mountain; the player is alone with Teddy)
Teddy Oh, I almost forgot!
Here—take this, <player>! Consider it a trophy for winning!
Take care of it, will you?
It's worth more than a nugget of my wisdom!
(Rellor cries)

Trainer Tales Championship

This event ran from August 30 to September 19, 2025 as part of the game's six-year anniversary celebrations. During the five-year anniversary, an event had been held where players could watch videos of previous story events on Pokémon Masters EX's official YouTube channel and vote for their favorite stories on X (formerly Twitter).[12] Ten of the most popular stories from this poll received reruns in this special event, with one new story being unlocked each day. While the stories were supposedly being unlocked in order of popularity, the order in which the stories were unlocked did not match either the global results[13] or the Japanese results.[14] The events that reran as part of the Trainer Tales Championship were:

  • 10th Place! Twin Stars Far Apart, ranked #6 in the Japanese results and #8 in the global results, was made available on August 30, 2025.
  • 9th Place! Researcher and Seeker, ranked #10 in the Japanese results and #5 in the global results, was made available on August 31, 2025.
  • 8th Place! All Aboard the Victory Train, unranked in the Japanese results but ranked #1 in the global results, was made available on September 1, 2025.
  • 7th Place! Travelers from a Distant Past, ranked #9 in the Japanese results and #2 in the global results, was made available on September 2, 2025.
  • 6th Place! One More Step to a New Path, ranked #7 in the Japanese results and #4 in the global results, was made available on September 3, 2025.
  • 5th Place! Chase the Northern Wind, ranked #4 in the Japanese results and #8 in the global results, was made available on September 4, 2025.
  • 4th Place! Honing One's Love, ranked #2 in the Japanese results but unranked in the global results, was made available on September 5, 2025.
  • 3rd Place! A Golden Future, ranked #3 in the Japanese results and #6 in the global results, was made available on September 6, 2025.
  • 2nd Place! Middle-Aged Opposites, ranked #5 in the Japanese results and #3 in the global results, was made available on September 7, 2025.
  • 1st Place! The Ideal Formula, ranked #1 in the Japanese results and #7 in the global results, was made available on September 8, 2025.

In addition, the stories of the events Five Friends' Treasure Hunt and From Kitakami—Continued were also included as "Trainer Tales Bonus Events". These were available for the entire duration of the event.

Notably, the following stories that were included in either in the global or Japanese results were completely absent:
