Java Edition Beta 1.7

"Beta 1.7" redirects here. For beta versions of Bedrock Edition 1.7.0, see Bedrock Edition 1.7.0/Development versions.
This page covers a development version that has a critical issue under certain conditions.

Pistons, when activated, can in some situations crash the game and lock the player out of their world. Upgrading a world rendered unplayable by this bug to Beta 1.7_01 or later allows it to be played again.

An official video documenting some of Beta 1.7's major features was released on Mojang's official YouTube channel on June 30th, 2011. The video was made by Hat Films. Made before Java Edition was officially released (and long before 1.7 came out), the trailer omits “Beta” when referring to the version number.
