Weather (Masters)
Weather is a type of field effect in Pokémon Masters EX that affects all Pokémon on the field, based on the mechanic of the same name from the core series games. Only one type of weather may be present at a time, but it can be used concurrently alongside terrain and zones.
At normal game speed, weather conditions generally last for about 45 seconds. This excludes time that sync pairs spend performing sync moves or max moves, but this includes time spent on everything else (e.g., moves' animation times, stats getting raised or lowered, taking damage from hail or a sandstorm, skills activating, or status conditions being applied or taking effect). At faster speeds, weather conditions last shorter to accommodate for quicker gameplay. However, the duration of a weather condition can be extended in certain situations.
There are four types of weather conditions available in the game: sunny, rain, hail, and sandstorm. In addition, more powerful versions of these conditions exist called EX weather. Each weather condition behaves similarly to the weather conditions in the core series games, with some differences.
Effects
- Sunny: Boosts Fire-type attacks by 50%. Additionally, Pokémon cannot be frozen, and previous Pokémon that were frozen prior to the weather condition being implemented will not be frozen anymore after the weather takes effect.
- EX Sunny: Boosts Fire-type attacks by 200%. Additionally, Pokémon cannot be frozen, and previous Pokémon that were frozen prior to the weather condition being implemented will not be frozen anymore after the weather takes effect.
- Rain: Boosts Water-type attacks by 50%.
- EX Rain: Boosts Water-type attacks by 200%.
- Hail: Damages sync pairs after the Trainer or Pokémon takes an action.
- Sandstorm: Damages sync pairs after the Trainer or Pokémon takes an action.
Unlike in the core series games, Ice-type Pokémon are not naturally immune to damage from hail; similarly, Rock-type, Steel-type, and Ground-type Pokémon are not naturally immune to damage from sandstorm. Instead, the effects of hail and sandstorm can be nullified by passive skills such as Snow Shelter and Sand Shelter.
Setting weather
Weather conditions may be applied through Pokémon moves, buddy moves, max moves, and skills. Some
Field sync pairs can set a weather condition using their sync move after being raised to
6★ EX (including those with the Field EX role).

If multiple sync pairs enter a battle simultaneously with a weather-setting skill that activates upon entry, the opposing team's skills will be activated before the player's team's skills, making the player's weather override the opponent's. In addition, weather-setting skills on the player's team will be activated in tactics order, meaning the weather set by the last pair in tactics order will override those of the others.
Superawakened passive skills
Superawakened passive skills are only accessible to certain fair-exclusive sync pairs after they are raised to superawakening level 5.

By 6★ EX sync move
The following field sync pairs, when raised to 6★ EX, will implement a weather condition just before their sync move is used for the first time in a battle. The duration of this weather is also extended by 50%. Sync pairs with a field EX role need to be raised to 6★ EX and receive a Field Roll Cake in order to access this effect.

Modifying weather
Under normal circumstances, weather conditions last for 45–50 seconds of gameplay. If a new weather condition is summoned, it will override the current weather condition, resetting the timer even if the new weather condition is the same as the current weather condition. However, the results are slightly different when the current weather condition is EX weather:
- If the weather being summoned is the non-EX version of the EX weather (e.g. summoning rain while EX rain is active), the duration of the EX weather is extended by 30 seconds.
- If the weather being summoned is a different type of non-EX weather (e.g. summoning hail while EX rain is active), the summoning will fail and the weather remains unchanged.
- If the weather being summoned is the same type of EX weather, the weather with the longer duration will be given priority.
Certain passive skills extend the duration of weather. When a sync pair with one of these skills is on the field, as soon as the weather condition is summoned, its duration will be extended by a fixed amount of time. These skills also extend the duration of the corresponding EX weather when it is summoned (but not when it is extended by summoning non-EX weather).
