Tower Tycoon and Hall Matron (Japanese: 塔の王と舞台のマドンナ Tower King and Stage Madonna) was a story event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pairs Palmer & Regigigas and Argenta & Skarmory.

During this event, players could earn event vouchers from battles that could be redeemed in the shop. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.

The player could battle using Palmer & Regigigas or Argenta & Skarmory to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; Brendan & Treecko/Grovyle/Sceptile to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and Norman & Slaking or any unlisted Sinnoh sync pairs to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.

This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning medals and other rewards.

In addition, players could earn a medal for completing all the story areas in the event.

First run

The event first ran from September 16 to October 3, 2023. The "Palmer Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Palmer & Regigigas from the beginning of the event to October 6, 2023, and the "Argenta Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Argenta & Skarmory from September 18 to October 6, 2023.

In this run, the type of voucher that players could earn was Event Voucher K. Event mission rewards included medals, Gems, Battle Points, a Strike Move Candy Coin, and a Support Move Candy Coin.

Second run

The event reran from October 24 to November 7, 2024. The "Double Feature Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Palmer & Regigigas and Argenta & Skarmory for the duration of the event.

In this run, the type of voucher that players could earn was Event Voucher C, and event missions were changed to reward only medals and Gems.

Plot

In Centra City, the player is chatting with Palmer when suddenly Barry runs into him. Palmer is happy to see Barry, but Barry quickly makes an excuse and runs off. Palmer comments that Barry has been avoiding him lately, and he wonders if he did something to upset Barry without realizing it.

A few days later, the player is doing some training with Barry, Norman, and Brendan in the forest. Norman calls an end to the training session because everyone looks tired, but Barry insists that he can keep going a bit longer. Norman reminds him that it's just as important to rest as it is to push yourself, and he asks Barry if there's a reason he's in such a hurry to improve. Barry dismisses the idea at first, but after being questioned by the player, Norman, and Brendan, he finally admits that the reason has to do with his dad. He explains that he ran into his dad the other day and boasted that he'd gotten stronger than Palmer. But when they battled on a team together so Barry could show Palmer his strength, Palmer totally overwhelmed their opponents without needing any help from him. Barry really thought his adventures in Sinnoh and on Pasio had made him stronger, so he was upset to realize that he couldn't keep up. Now, he wants to train and get stronger as quickly as possible so he doesn't disappoint his dad. Brendan and Norman sympathize with Barry, but Norman says he doesn't think Barry needs to worry about disappointing Palmer. Barry then declares that he won't face his dad until he's satisfied with how strong he is.

Suddenly, Argenta appears and comments that Barry is just as stubborn as his father. After she introduces herself, Barry asks what a Frontier Brain is doing here. Argenta says that she wanted to help out Palmer, so she came to check on Barry because she thought something happened between the two of them. She asks Barry if he really has that little confidence in his own strength, and Barry says that he's nothing compared to his dad. Argenta then asks him why he's comparing himself to his father, since he has his own unique strengths. She points out that each of the Frontier Brains have different strengths: one of them can bring out the power of any Pokémon, another is really lucky, and yet another is committed to serving his master. To her, this is proof that every person and Pokémon has a place where they can shine. Palmer is one of the strongest Frontier Brains and he can be strict, but he doesn't look down on any of the other Frontier Brains, which allows them to support each other's growth. Barry agrees that his dad treats everyone equally, regardless of their strength, so Argenta encourages him to show Palmer the unique strength he has right now. With a little encouragement from the player, Barry resolves to show his dad how strong he's gotten from the training he's done so far. Brendan and Norman encourage him to battle Palmer to show how much he's grown, so Barry runs off to go find his dad.

In the city, Barry apologizes to Palmer for avoiding him and explains why he was doing it. Palmer laughs and assures Barry that he has his own strengths, so he doesn't need to compare himself to Palmer. Palmer is glad that he didn't do anything wrong, and Argenta is satisfied that everything has worked out. Palmer is surprised that Argenta gave Barry advice and apologizes for the trouble, but she assures him that it was nothing. Barry then challenges Palmer to a battle to show how strong he is and asks the player and Brendan to be his teammates. Palmer happily accepts Barry's challenge, and Norman and Argenta volunteer to be Palmer's teammates. As the two teams prepare to face off, Palmer encourages Barry to show him the bond he's built with his Pokémon and the skill he's acquired as a Trainer.
