Otherworldly Encounter (Japanese: 異界とつながる夕闇の宴 The Twilight Banquet that Connects to the Spirit World) was a story event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pairs Iris (Fall 2022) & Naganadel, Allister (Fall 2022) & Gourgeist, and Helena (Hex Maniac) & Haunter.
Players could team up with Helena (Hex Maniac) & Haunter by completing the final story area of the event, Poipole's Chosen Path. This would also earn them a medal.
During this event, players could earn players could earn two types of tickets from battles that could be redeemed in the shop. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra tickets were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.
This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning medals and other rewards.
This event is the only way to obtain
Song Key No. 00034, which allows "The Midnight Parade" to be played in the Jukebox.
First run
The event first ran from October 17 to November 3, 2022. The "Iris Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Iris (Fall 2022) & Naganadel for the duration of the event, and the "Allister Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Allister (Fall 2022) & Gourgeist starting on October 19, 2022 and lasting until the end of the event.
In this run, the two types of tickets that players could earn were Midnight Parade Tickets and Midnight Parade Tickets +. The player could battle using Iris (Fall 2022) & Naganadel or Allister (Fall 2022) & Gourgeist to obtain +0.6× bonus tickets; Morty (Fall 2021) & Banette, Caitlin (Fall 2021) & Sableye, Acerola (Fall 2020) & Mimikyu, or Hilbert (Fall 2020) & Mightyena to obtain +0.4× bonus tickets; and any unlisted Ghost- or Poison-type sync pairs to earn +0.2× bonus tickets.
Event mission rewards included medals, Gems, Battle Points, a Strike Move Candy Coin, and a Tech Move Candy Coin.
Second run
The event reran from October 18 to November 1, 2023. The "Super Spotlight Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Iris (Fall 2022) & Naganadel, Allister (Fall 2022) & Gourgeist, Morty (Fall 2021) & Banette, Caitlin (Fall 2021) & Sableye, Acerola (Fall 2020) & Mimikyu, and Hilbert (Fall 2020) & Mightyena for the duration of the event.
In this run, the two types of tickets that players could earn were Pumpkin Tickets A and Pumpkin Tickets A+. Exchanges were available in the shop to convert Helena (Hex Maniac) & Haunter's Custom ★ Power-Ups and Sync Orbs into standard 4★ Power-Ups, 3★ Power-Ups, and Co-op Sync Orbs for players who had already fully upgraded this sync pair. If the player had already obtainedSong Key No. 00034 in the previous run, exchanging for it in the shop again would reward the player with a 3★ Power-Up.
