From Kitakami—Prelude (Japanese: キタカミの里から 序章 From Kitakami - Prologue) was a story event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pair Carmine & Sinistcha. It was followed by the story event From Kitakami—Continued.
The "Carmine Poké Fair" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Carmine & Sinistcha from the beginning of the event to September 6, 2025.
This event featured event points, a currency that players could earn by completing battles. Players received rewards based on the number of points accumulated, including 5★ Scout Tickets, a Field Move Candy Coin, a 5★ Power-Up, and a Support Move Candy Coin. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.
The player could battle using Carmine & Sinistcha to obtain +0.6× bonus points; Arven & Mabosstiff, Penny & Sylveon, or Nemona & Pawmot to obtain +0.4× bonus points; and any unlisted sync pairs with the
Paldea theme skill to obtain +0.2× bonus points.
Plot
Having arrived in Pasio, Carmine reads an information board to learn about the island. She angers herself as she reads about Lear and Pasio, asserting that Blueberry Academy is just as good. Nemona suddenly approaches her, claiming to have heard her from afar. She waves over Arven and Penny, who follow after her. As Carmine greets the three, she asks where Juliana is. When Arven reveals that she too is on Pasio, Carmine is angered that she did not come to greet her, then runs off in search of her. Nemona laments over not being able to have a conversation with Carmine, prompting Arven to assure her they will have the chance to talk later.

| Carmine | I'll teach 'em a lesson! |
| Carmine | On Pasio, I'M probably seen as an outsider. But I'm used to battling away from home—like in extracurricular stuff! I'm gonna prove to everyone I'm cool and strong enough to make it worldwide! |

| (City; Carmine is looking up at the information screen) | |
| Carmine | Hmm... So, Trainers and Pokémon from all over the world gather here, huh. Wait, what?! This island's artificial?! How rich IS this Lear guy?! He looks super bossy! So annoying! Blueberry Academy is just as good a facility, y'know! |
| ??? | Oh, there she is! |
| (Carmine turns to see Nemona running up to her; Nemona stops in front of her and turns around) | |
| Nemona | See? Told you I heard her! |
| (Arven and Penny catch up to Nemona) | |
| Arven | Carmine's so loud... |
| Penny | Yeah, she really stands out, huh... |
| Carmine | Huh?! What's that supposed to mean? Anyway, long time no see! I didn't know you guys were here too! |
| Nemona | Yeah! I'm so glad we get to spend some time together again! |
| Carmine | Oh, by the way, where's Juliana? Didn't she come with you guys? |
| Arven | Yup, she's here on Pasio, too! |
| Carmine | I knew it! She's got some nerve not even saying hi to me! |
| Penny | Oh yeah, and there's also— |
| Carmine | OK, fine! Whatever! I'll just go find her myself! |
| (Carmine turns around and sprints down the street) | |
| Penny | Oh...there she goes... |
| Nemona | Aww... We had other stuff we wanted to tell her. |
| Arven | Oh well. We'll probably see her again soon anyway. |
Trivia
- This is the first story event since A Special Present to include only a single named story area. Unlike A Special Present, this story event contains no introductory story area, making it the shortest story event.
- This is one of only seven story events that do not award any medals, and it is the only one of those to have debuted after medals were introduced to the game.
