Diantha's Battle Prep (Japanese: 決戦に向けて カルネ編 Facing the Decisive Battle: Carne Arc) was a costume event in Pokémon Masters EX, and a sub-story of the costume event Poké War Games. It was focused on the sync pair Diantha (Special Costume) & Keldeo.
The "Diantha Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Diantha (Special Costume) & Keldeo for the duration of the event.
During this event, players had to use a Story Key, which could be obtained by completing a story area in Poké War Games, to unlock the event's area info. Once unlocked, players could earn Event Vouchers W from battles that could be redeemed in the shop. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers and Story Keys were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.
Players could battle with Diantha (Special Costume) & Keldeo, Hilda (Special Costume) & Diancie, Guzma (Special Costume) & Buzzwole, or Jasmine (Special Costume) & Celesteela to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; Fantina & Mismagius or Glacia & Glalie to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and Wikstrom & Aegislash, Siebold & Clawitzer, Lt. Surge & Voltorb/Electrode, or Korrina & Lucario to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.
During the reruns of Poké War Games, this event's story and battles were combined with the other sub-stories into Battle Prep.
Plot
A few days before the Battle of the Golden Spheres, Diantha and Wikstrom participate in a practice battle together to prepare themselves for the upcoming event. The two spar with all their might, being cheered on by Professor Kukui and other onlookers. After the battle, they congratulate each other on their battle prowess, and their skills—as well as their acting—are further complimented by Kukui. Diantha warmly accepts his words and promises to continue entertaining the people of Pasio. As they converse, Diantha directs her attention to Guzma, who happened to walk by. She challenges him to a battle much to his excitement and to that of the crowd. Diantha swiftly claims a victory, and Guzma vows to put on a greater fight during the event. Diantha promises to keep her act as a knight fresh for the big event for the sake of the spectators.
