Slicing move

A slicing move (Japanese: ()(わざ) slicing move) is any move that is based on slicing. Slicing moves have some unique properties and effects. The mechanic was introduced in Generation IX.

Slicing moves like Slash have existed since Generation I, but in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, slicing became a mechanic.

In the core series games, slicing moves have the following effects:

  • Slicing moves used by a Pokémon with Sharpness are boosted by 50%.
