Endermen are tall monsters with the ability to teleport. They are commonly found in the End and can also be found in some areas of the Overworld.

Behavior

Endermen have the ability to pick up and place blocks. Some endermen, who have been trained by Soren, can even build simple structures. They will teleport by their own will or if they are targeted by projectiles such as a thrown snowball, potion, or shot arrow. Staring at their eyes and being caught in the wither storm's tractor beam aggravates them.

History

In Assembly Required, Jesse, Lukas, and Reuben encounter endermen while exploring Soren's fortress.

In The Last Place You Look, the gang meets endermen in the End. It is revealed that Soren has a fascination with them, studying their behavior and trying to teach them to build. When Jesse angers some of the endermen, all nearby endermen become hostile. They enter Soren's mansion, forcing Jesse and their group to navigate through them, eventually flooding the mansion in the process.

In A Block and a Hard Place, Jesse notices that endermen are attracted to the wither storm, picking up blocks from its body. Near the end of the episode, Jesse and the others lure the endermen to take blocks from the wither storm, successfully creating a hole to enter its body.

Trivia

  • Endermen use magenta eyes, which at the time of the game's release was a design choice exclusive to Bedrock Edition.
  • Strangely, they appear to be completely unaffected by rain as shown in A Block and a Hard Place, unlike in normal Minecraft where they are also damaged by it.
  • In Order Up!, A Portal to Mystery, and Below the Bedrock, players can find several of Soren's books, several of them about endermen.
    • Brave New Endermen mentions a little enderman, but the game never shows any younger or smaller versions.
