Creepers are green colored monsters that explode when close to their targets and are a primary source of gunpowder. They are common and frequently encountered by the characters.

Behavior

Creepers have a habit of sneaking silently up on their targets and exploding, hissing before they do so. Creepers will also sometimes lean their body forward when running at their target. They may also slightly close their mouths.

History

In The Order of the Stone, Jesse’s gang can build a creeper statue in the EnderCon Building Competition. Later, Jesse and Petra encounter creepers on an abandoned bridge. As the two fall off, a creeper falls too, and Jesse pushes it midair, causing it to explode and knock several chickens off a cliff.

In Assembly Required, a creeper attempts to explode near Jesse and Axel or Olivia when they return with Magnus or Ellegaard. Later, another creeper tries to blow up Jesse and Gabriel/Petra in Soren’s fortress.

In The Last Place You Look, many creepers attack Jesse’s gang inside Soren’s mob grinder.

In A Block and a Hard Place, several creepers can be seen fleeing from the wither storm.

In Order Up!, creepers are among the mobs Jesse’s gang fights outside the jungle fortress. Aiden also spawns creepers in Sky City.

In A Portal to Mystery, a painting of a creeper wearing a chef’s outfit is visible in the Spooky Mansion's kitchen.

In Access Denied, creepers are among the mobs under PAMA’s control.

In Hero in Residence, many charged creepers emerge from the Heckmouth.

In Below the Bedrock, Jesse fights three creepers in the Oasis, then encounters three more after meeting the scavengers with Jack.

In the backstage during Above and Beyond, Jesse kills a creeper for gunpowder to use in making firework rockets.

Trivia

  • Charged creepers are created when struck by lightning. In Hero in Residence, the creepers inside the Heckmouth were never shown being struck by lightning. However, lightning flashes can be seen within the Heckmouth.
  • In some locations, such as outside the Order Hall interior, an out-of-bounds mesh can be found with a texture of a crying creeper and the text "NO GEO" and "PLEASE DON'T SHOOT HERE."
  • Creepers do not close their mouths in the Netflix version.
