Rob (Japanese: ライ Rai) is a minor recurring character who first appeared in Hatenna and the Otherworldly. He is Roy's doppelgänger.

History

Rob is a Trainer who came from his home region to study at Naranja Academy in the Tera Training course. While traveling with his friends Niko and Dash, the group became lost in the same forest as Liko, Roy, and Dot. After wandering aimlessly for a while, Niko used a vine from a nearby tree to replace a broken strap on her handbag. This sparked the fury of an Annihilape, as the vine was how it reached its food supply. The group was chased by Annihilape for days until they met Liko and her friends. Despite Roy's insistence that they battle the wild Pokémon together, Rob and his friends fled out of the forest.

In Showdown! The Paldea Elite Four, Rob and his friends were welcomed by Clavell and Jacq along with the other students who had submitted their school reports and thus completed the first part of the training course.

In The Terapagos I Don't Know, Rob, Niko, and Dash participated in Clavell's speech that started the second part of Tera Training.

In Infiltrating the System! Naranja Academy in Danger!, during the conclusion of the course, Rob, Niko, and Dash heard Clavell's speech regarding the Tera Training Student Battle Tournament that will be held for the course's students.

In Shine on, Terastallization! Liko vs. Roy!, he faced Dot and her Quaxwell during the tournament, only to be defeated.

Darumaka is Rob's only known Pokémon.

In Shine on, Terastallization! Liko vs. Roy!, Rob used Darumaka in his Tera Training Student Battle Tournament battle against Dot, only to be defeated by her Quaxwell.

None of Darumaka's moves are known.

Rob has at least one other Pokémon, as he participated in the second phase of Tera Training, which requires two Pokémon.
