Niko (Japanese: ルカ Luka) is a minor recurring character in Pokémon Horizons: The Series. She is Liko's doppelgänger.
History

Niko is a Trainer who came from her home region to study at Naranja Academy in the Tera Training course. In Hatenna and the Otherworldly, while traveling with her friends Rob and Dash, the group became lost in the same forest as Liko, Roy, and Dot. After wandering aimlessly for a while, Niko used a vine from a nearby tree to replace a broken strap on her handbag. This sparked the fury of an Annihilape, as the vine was how it reached its food supply. The group was chased by Annihilape for days until they met Liko and her friends. Despite Roy's insistence that they battle the wild Pokémon together, Niko and her friends fled out of the forest.
In Showdown! The Paldea Elite Four, Niko and her friends were welcomed by Clavell and Jacq along with the other students who had submitted their school reports and thus completed the first part of the training course.
In The Terapagos I Don't Know, Niko, Rob, and Dash participated in Clavell's speech that started the second part of Tera Training.
In Infiltrating the System! Naranja Academy in Danger!, during the conclusion of the course, she, Rob, and Dash heard Clavell's speech regarding the Tera Training Student Battle Tournament that will be held for the course's students. After seeing that Dash had been saddened by failing her exam, Niko tried to cheer her up. Later, Niko was seen battling Ann in the first round of the tournament.
Character
Although not much of her personality was shown, in Infiltrating the System! Naranja Academy in Danger! it was shown that Niko has a supportive side, trying to cheer up Dash after her friend failed the Tera Training.
Pokémon
This listing is of Niko's known Pokémon in Pokémon Horizons: The Series:

Roserade is Niko's only known Pokémon and is usually seen outside of its Poké Ball. In Hatenna and the Otherworldly, Roserade was seen injured alongside her Trainer when she encountered Liko, Roy, and Dot in the forest. After the two groups were introduced to each other, Hatenna healed the injuries of Roserade and her fellow Pokémon.
In Infiltrating the System! Naranja Academy in Danger!, Roserade was used in a battle against Ann's Dewott in the Tera Training Student Battle Tournament. The winner of the battle was not seen.
None of Roserade's moves are known.
Niko has at least one other Pokémon, as she participated in the second phase of Tera Training, which requires two Pokémon.
