Gotham City Bats
The Gotham City Bats were a professional baseball team of the Planetary Baseball League in the 21st century, based in Gotham City. Buck Bokai played for the Bats in 2020 and 2021. He joined the team as the pivotal commodity in a twelve-man trade from his first team, the Crenshaw Monarchs, and went on to play on the Tanis club after two years as one of the Bats.
This team was listed is Bokai's career stats on his baseball card. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 1 prop art)
This seems to be named for the locale of DC Comics' Batman comic book, film, and television franchise.
"Gotham" is also a historic nickname for New York City; the New York Giants baseball team originated as the "New York Gothams" in 1883. As such, the "Gotham City" appellation may indicate the team is actually based in a neighborhood of New York.
