Dance move

A dance move (Japanese: 踊り技 dance move) is any move that is based on dancing. Dance moves have some unique properties and effects. The mechanic was introduced in Generation VI.
Dance moves like Swords Dance have existed since Generation I, but in Pokémon X and Y, dancing became a mechanic.
In the games
In the core series games, dance moves have the following effects:
- Whenever another Pokémon uses a dance move, a Pokémon with Dancer will immediately use that move as well.
In Pokémon X and Y, Tierno will request to see a Pokémon that knows a dance move once per day during the post-game in Coumarine City.
In Pokémon Sun and Moon, dance moves became a battle mechanic.
