Bread is a type of food that is often used and eaten by villagers.

Appearance

Bread comes in two forms, depending on the dimension. In the Overworld, bread comes in cubed loaves that can be cut in slices. On Earth, bread comes in long knotted loafs.

Properties

Bread is soft and light. It is a product of the crop wheat. It is edible and deemed delicious by villagers, who use it as their main source of food. Illagers seem to appreciate it as well, given how they store wheat in their treasure room.

History

They placed bread above all other food in their society. Illagers also learned they love bread. When Steve entered the Overworld, he learned that villagers love bread.

Later, when the gang arrived, Steve introduced them to Midport Village, commenting that villagers "love crushing loaf". Bread appears in the marketplace in a basket that is tipped on the floor, spilling the bread.

In the mushroom hut, Steve can be seen holding a slice of bread.

In the mid-credits scene with Marlene and the nitwit, Marlene is baking bread and feeds the nitwit some.
