Midport Village[1] is a location within the Overworld that plays a prominent role within A Minecraft Movie, serving as a major setting of the film.
Layout
Based under an arch-shaped mountain, Midport Village closely resembles a typical village from a glance, with many pre-existing buildings such as the temple and homes that appear to be on top of distant cliffs. However, many of the simpler buildings are not to scale with in-game structures from the game, possessing more detail and a decidedly more medieval aesthetic. In addition, several additional buildings have been added, such as windmills and bell towers. In the center of the village is a highly unique open marketplace area, featuring things such as cherry trees.
History
At an unknown time, after emerging from the Earth portal and building his first structures in the forest, Steve, along with Dennis, found the village. Despite the language barrier, Steve learned that the villagers love trading, crushing and eating bread, and that the iron golems protect them. With or without their permission, he created many new structures in the village. At some point following the construction of his secret stash, Steve went on an adventure to the Redstone Mountains and obtained lava and redstone. Wondering what would happen if he mixed hot lava and chicken, he made a shop called Steve's Lava Chicken!. Steve also built the "world’s tallest diving board going into the world’s smallest pool" and used llamas to test it.[2]
After the gang of misfits entered the Overworld, Steve took them to Midport Village, showing off his creations. Upon seeing the llamas, Garrett told Steve that he has "a llama problem" solely to take every opportunity to criticize him while Dawn "was impressed by the diving llamas".[2]

Quotes
MIDPORT VILLAGE - A peaceful settlement in the Overworld, home to gentleVillagers. According to Steve, they’re pacifists—many of them vegetarians—who love bread and wouldn’t hurt a soul. Steve has built much of the village himself, including the legendary Steve's Lava Chicken!
