The Redstone Mountains[1] are a site used as a mining complex by Steve, which he brought Garrett and Henry to after negotiating a deal to harvest diamonds.
Points of interest
Redstone Mine
Inside one of the mountains is a mining complex Steve built especially to harvest redstone. He stashed carts of diamonds in a secret cave behind a piston door. Throughout the mines are traps consisting of dispensers loaded with cactus balls and a piston with a slime cube on the head. Rails run through the mines, allowing easy access through using minecarts.
Creeper farm
A huge cave with no light and a minecart track in the middle. Due to the bad lighting, the cave was full of creepers. The whole farm and mountain was destroyed by an explosion caused by all the creepers right after Steve, Garrett and Henry escaped, while being chased by the Great Hog, Archie, and two other piglins. It remains unknown how Steve got only creepers to spawn, but it may be because the creepers killed the other mobs, and it explains Steve’s abundance of TNT and fireworks.
History
In Midport Village, Steve mentions the mountains to Natalie when explaining how to reach the woodland mansion. After leaving Midport Village, Steve, Garrett, and Henry stop by the Redstone Mountains before heading to the woodland mansion. This detour was due to Garrett, who earlier offered the Orb of Dominance to Steve in exchange for diamonds.[1] While inside the mountains, the Great Hog chases them into Steve’s creeper farm. As every creeper begins to explode, the heroes escape in minecarts, just as the mine collapse, taking the diamonds with it.
