Research spots are scannable points of interest found in the Lental region.

There are a total of 158 research spots that you can find at all the courses in the Lental region. Finding and analyzing these spots rewards you with the Apprentice Detective, Assistant Detective, and Great Detective research titles.

Laboratory of Ecology and Natural Sciences

Research Camp

A campfire burns quietly.	There's something in the grass.	The NEO-ONE - an amazing vehicle that can explore any environment.

Alternate Route	The second floor of the lab serves as the professor's living space.	You can hear something sleeping under the floor.

A watering trough for Pokémon. It's full of fresh water.	A small Pokémon could probably fit in this hole.

Secret Side Path

Loud snoring sounds can be heard. It looks like you can go through here.	Heavy snores echo from within.	A bird Pokémon's nest. Maybe its owner is out looking for food.

Side Path (Night)

It sounds like many different Pokémon are sleeping nearby.	Heavy snores echo from within.	Something's sticking out of the ground. It sounds like it's snoring.

Jungle (Day)

A bug Pokémon web. The silk looks very tough.	A crystabloom that grows on Belusylva Island.	These Pokémon tracks appear to lead off into the undergrowth.

Some fruit seems to have fallen out of a Pikipek's food storage.	These ancient ruins are being engulfed by an enormous tree.	It looks like there's a way to get behind the waterfall.

It looks like you can get behind the waterfall from here and continue on.

Jungle (Night)

An empty web. Its owner may be nearby.	Alternate route.	You sense a mysterious presence somewhere in the area.

Elsewhere Forest

This Trevenant seems less wary around you now. You can probably go past it.	A stone floats in the air, suspended by an unseen power.	Alternate route.

It looks like you can take this path to continue on beyond the fog.	It's hard to imagine what these ancient ruins used to look like.	This mysterious pool of sunlight seems to connect to forests of all seasons.

Unfezant is doing an excellent job guarding its nest.	Something may be hiding in this pile of fallen leaves.	A Pokémon seems to be hibernating here.

Ursaring claw marks. This is how it marks its territory.	It looks like there's something behind the waterfall.	Alternate route

Maricopia Reef

Reef (Day)

There seems to be something inside this big whirlpool.	A bird Pokémon's nest. That may be an egg inside.	It's a Pelipper's nest. Something inside was moving around.

There seems to be something inside this big whirlpool.	It looks like there's something in the blue hole.	Other Pokémon also love the sound of Lapras's gentle singing.

Lental Seafloor

Undersea

???	It looks like there are Pokémon living hidden in the seaweed.	A crystabloom that grows on the Maricopia Islands. It's giving off a pink glow.

Now that the boulders are destroyed, it looks like you can go through.	This boulder has been cleanly cleaved in half.	This buried pot seems to date back to the same era as the ruins.

There's an inscription here, but it's too worn and faded to read.	Evidence suggests that these undersea ruins were some sort of ritual site.	Lanturn's light is illuminating another route.

This seems to be home to the Pokémon known as the guardian of the seas.

Voluca Island

Sweltering Sands

Sands (Day)

Some tracks left by a small Pokémon.	A crystabloom that grows on Voluca Island.	It's impossible to see what's happening inside this fierce sandstorm.

A hole formed by wind erosion. It has since become a Pokémon's den.	Alternate route	This coconut doesn't seem to have fallen here naturally.

Something is moving in the greenery.	Silicobra might still be nearby.	Something is buried in the sand.

Sands (Night)

A crystabloom that grows on Voluca Island. It's giving off a green glow.	Alternate route	A hole formed by wind erosion. It has since become a Pokémon's den.

It's impossible to see what's happening beyond the sandstorm.

Fireflow Volcano

A crystabloom that grows on Voluca Island.	Several large pieces of amber are embedded in the wall.	The wall has collapsed. You can't go this way.

You can hear some happy humming sounds.	A deep cave extends beyond the arch in the ruins.	Alternate route

Barren Badlands

Badlands (Day)

An unstable rock. It looks like it might fall if it's hit with enough force.	Alternate route	A sweet scent seems to be coming from the sand around here.

This bubbling water seems to be connected to another geyser.	Chemicals from the poison swamp have crystallized over many long years.	Strong poisonous gas and liquid is spilling out from a huge boulder.

This hole spouts noxious gas. Poisonous liquid is pooled around it.	Something must have landed here to form this large crater.	There are signs of Pokémon living in this small hole.

Onix burrowed all the holes in this cliff face.

Badlands (Night)

A crystabloom that grows on Durice Island.	The hole Sandslash dug through the snow seems to lead somewhere.	There's a strange indentation in this pile of snow.

There seems to be an open area on the other side of the snow.	There seems to be something inside the ice.	Those frozen ruins have been trapped in the ice for a very long time.

There's a hole in this wall of ice.

Snowfields (Night)

This pile of snow looks unnatural.	A crystabloom that grows on Durice Island. It's giving off a purple glow.	There seems to be an open area on the other side of the snow.

Outaway Cave

Cave

Rare gemstones are embedded in the walls and ceiling.	A formation of crystallized groundwater - also known as rimstone.	There's something in this rimstone pool with all the accumulated groundwater.

There seems to be a large open area beyond the hole that Noibat flew through.	This stalactite looks ready to fall at any moment.	These huge crystals were probably formed by the heat from a magma pool.

These plant-covered ruins are from the same era as the others.	A stone giving off a warm glow. Maybe this is why plants can grow here.	Mawile seems less wary of you now. Perhaps it will let you through.

Some electrically charged Pokémon fur is stuck here.

You can feel vibrations coming from beyond this hole.	You can feel vibrations coming from beyond this hole.	You can sense a presence within the fog.

Aurus Island

Ruins

A crystabloom that grows on Aurus Island.	Looks like an entrance to the ruins. The way through is blocked.	A crystabloom that grows on Aurus Island. It's giving off a golden glow.

Numerous heart-shaped markings cover the wall.	There are numerous deep gashes here.	These crystablooms and the statues are arranged in the same position.

There's some sort of pedestal behind the sleeping Golurk.
