The Secret Side Path (Japanese: カクレ抜け道 Kakure Secret Path) is a location on Florio Island of the Lental region. It was added in the version 2.0.0 update to New Pokémon Snap on August 4, 2021.
It is unlocked by scanning a tree near the lake of Florio Nature Park (Day). After playing through the stage for the first time, the stage is added to the course map. Unlike other routes, the NEO-ONE will shrink to a smaller size, such that the Pokémon appear much larger than usual.
Layout
The NEO-ONE shrinks and starts in an area in where Wurmple, Pichu and Scorbunny will be present. A Dodrio appears and scares away Pichu and Scorbunny. The player then rides on an Emolga to an area with many mushrooms and Shroomish beside a crystabloom. The course then continues through two hollow logs with a Torterra in between the logs. After exiting the second log, the Dodrio reappears to scare away Pichu and Scorbunny again. Shortly after, the path opens up to a wider area where several Torterra can be seen around the second crystabloom. The NEO-ONE then returns to its normal size and appears at the flower fields (the end of the Florio Nature Park). The course is mostly unchanged during the night, though some of the Pokémon are different.
Alternate routes
- By scanning the grass towards the start of the level, the player will unlock an alternate route that leads to a Snorlax on both the Day and Night routes.
- On the Day route, the NEO-ONE will usually travel underneath Torterra (situated between the two logs). If a melody is played before reaching the Torterra, the Torterra will crouch, allowing the NEO-ONE to traverse above it. This only briefly diverges the path, before the NEO-ONE rejoins the same route.
