The Laboratory of Ecology and Natural Sciences (Japanese: レンティル ポケモン自然科学研究所 Lentil Pokémon and Natural Sciences Research Institute), or L.E.N.S. for short, is a location on Florio Island of the Lental region.
In the games
In New Pokémon Snap, the laboratory acts as the main hub of the game. Most of the cutscenes in the game take place here. The Laboratory of Ecology and Natural Sciences is first seen on the title screen, and the player can choose several options here. The options include taking photos here, taking photos on other islands, entering the lab, and checking the settings. While inside the lab, the player can also check the Photodex, share their photos on the internet, edit their profile and check their research titles.

The player may also use their NEO-ONE inside and outside the laboratory to take photos much like the other routes. The player may either start next to the laboratory building or next to the laboratory sign. The Pokémon interactions and path taken will differ slightly based on the starting point. The starting position will depend on the laboratory picture shown on the home screen. The player is also given the option to enter the laboratory building as an alternate route.
