Pokémon world locations

Fireflow Volcano (Japanese: ドロー火山 Dorō Volcano) is a location on Voluca Island of the Lental region.

Layout

The course starts out next to a hot spring with Altaria. After leaving the hot springs, the NEO-ONE reaches an area with various Fossil Pokémon such as Archeops and a Monferno. After that, the course continues into a cave inside the volcano with Graveler on the walls. After passing by some rocks, the NEO-ONE enters an area with lava flowing in the ground. Slugma and Charmander can be found here. The course ends at the ancient ruins in the lava area.

In research level 2, the NEO-ONE enters a route that leads to an area with blue lava and Torkoal instead of the route with normal lava as this path is blocked off by a sleeping Tyrantrum. The blue lava later leads to an area with ancient ruins and two Typhlosion. Starting from Level 3, this route becomes the alternate route.

Illumina Spot

The Illumina Spot is made out of two rooms with spires of rock jutting out of the lava underneath. Tunnels connect the two rooms. Two Volcarona swathed in fire fly around the rooms. The NEO-ONE will automatically take the shorter route in the first room. If fluffruit are thrown at the Volcarona when they are to the left of the path in the first room, the NEO-ONE will go around the rocky spire in the first room, before using a different tunnel to enter the second room.

Altaria
3 Vivillon will appear when the Luxray in the final chamber of the alternate route is illuminated with an Illumina orb, causing it to run away.
138
Altaria
1-3 Altaria can be found at the start of the route, many which are enjoying the hot spring.
★★★★ Research level 1+: A group of Altaria at the back of the hot spring at the beginning of the route can be disrupted with fluffruit (or automatically due to a Luxray in research level 1). Fluffruit can then be thrown onto a nearby smaller pool of water which will cause steam to rise. The Altaria will celebrate around the steam.
139
Shinx
2-3 Shinx appears at the start of the route and in the blue lava room in the alternate route. Another Shinx appears in the first cave along the main route from research level 3.
★★★★ Research level 3: A Shinx can be reunited with a Luxray at the start of the route with a trail of fluffruit. It will then celebrate once reunited.
140
Luxray
1-3 Luxray can be found at the start of the route, and will scare away a group of Altaria in research level 1. Luxray can also be seen in the first cave of the main route. From research level 2, a Luxray also appears on a ledge high above the room at the end of the alternate route.
★★★★ Research level 3: A Luxray in the first cave of the main route is perched atop a rock. Throwing an Illumina orb at it causes its eyes to gleam.
141
Talonflame
2-3 Talonflame can be seen flying around at the start of the route, and in the open area before entering the volcano. A Talonflame also appears from research level 3 in the first cave on the main route.
★★★★ Research level 2 only: Fluffruit can be thrown onto the rocky lava in the open area before entering the volcano. A Talonflame will swoop down with a burst of embers.
142
Monferno
1-3 Monferno appear at various points along the route, often jumping between ledges and performing martial art poses.
★★★★ Research level 1 only: A Monferno can be found in the very last chamber of the route. Throwing an Illumina orb at it will cause it to perform a number of poses, one of which will involve a blazing kick.
143
Aerodactyl
1-3 Aerodactyl appear flying around various points of the route, including in the open area before entering the volcano and along the alternate route.
★★★★ Research level 2+: Once the Typhlosion in the last chamber of the alternate route run away, fluffruit can be thrown onto the ground. Aerodactyl will swoop down and eat the fluffruit.
144
Tyrantrum
1-3 A Tyrantrum appears in the open area before entering the volcano, scaring away different Pokémon depending on the research level. On research level 2, a sleeping Tyrantrum blocks the path further into the first cave on the main route, but is positioned further back on research level 3 to allow access to the main route. A Tyrantrum can be seen challenging a Charizard in the final chamber of the main route on research level 3.
★★★★ Research level 3: Throwing Illumina orbs at two Monferno in the first cave on the main route causes them to approach a sleeping Tyrantrum and wake it up. Tyrantrum will roar at them in anger.
145
Graveler
1-3 Graveler can be found at most points throughout the route. Three will be rolling down an incline towards the start of the route from research level 2. Others can be seen hanging on rock faces, and can be dropped to the ground below when a fluffruit is thrown at them.
★★★★ Research level 1+: When a Graveler is fed a fluffruit, it may occasionally use its inner hands rather than its outer hands. This appears to occur the most readily with the Graveler that appears in the middle of the final lava chamber on the main route (this Graveler only appears after it is dropped with a fluffruit at an earlier point in the route).
146
Archeops
1-3 Several Archeops can be found flying around the route or perched on rocky outcrops.
★★★★ Research level 2 only: Archeops in the open area before entering the volcano can be fed fluffruit. It will celebrate afterwards.
147
Slugma
1-3 Slugma appear at the end of both routes. One can be seen running down a lavafall.
★★★★ Research level 1, 3: A Slugma hanging upside down in the final chamber of the main route can be knocked off into the lava below with a fluffruit. If it is then illuminated with an orb, it will climb up a lavafall.
148
Torkoal
2-3 Torkoal can be found in the blue lava room on the alternate route. From research level 3, a Torkoal also appears in the final chamber of the main route.
★★★★ Research level 3: A sleeping Torkoal in the final chamber of the main route can be awoken by a nearby Monferno when an Illumina orb is thrown at it. It will then raise its front legs in response to being woken up.
149
Charmander
1-3 Charmander appear in the final chamber on the main route. At higher research levels, Charmander can be found in the blue lava room of the alternate route, as well as hiding at various spots outside the caves towards the start of the route.
★★★★ Research level 3: A Charmander outside the first cave can be found high on a rocky outcrop next to an Archeops. When an Illumina orb is thrown at it, it will emit fire from its mouth.
150
Charizard
3 A Charizard appears in the final chamber in the main route and is seen challenging a Tyrantrum. A Charizard can be summoned in the alternate route with the steps below.
★★★★ Research level 2+: Two Charmander can be found in the blue lava room of the alternate route. Once Illumina orbs are thrown at it, a Graveler higher up can be dropped when disrupted with fluffruit. Graveler will fall through the ground, causing the lava to glow, and Charizard will burst up through the rocky lava.
151
Typhlosion
2-3 Two Typhlosion can be seen at the end of the alternate route. A third Typhlosion appears at the start of the route on research level 3.
★★★★ Research level 3: When the Typhlosion at the start of the route is interrupted with a fluffruit, it will reappear above and behind the NEO-ONE in the open area before entering the volcano. Throwing an Illumina orb at it causes it to spout fire.
152
Flareon
3 Flareon can be found in the blue lava room of the alternate route, as well as at the ends of both routes.
★★★★ Research level 3: Flareon in the blue lava room can be fed fluffruit. It may occasionally burn the fruit before eating.
153
Ho-Oh
3 Ho-Oh appears flying in the sky at various points along the route. It will only appear in the post-game.
★★★★ Research level 3: Three Ho-Oh feathers along the alternate route must be illuminated with orbs for Ho-Oh to appear in the final chamber. The feathers are located: on a wall opposite the rock-red lava room, behind a Torkoal before the blue lava room, in the center of the blue lava room. It will then appear in the final chamber. When Ho-Oh is screeching and glowing with rainbows, this will yield a ★★★★ photo.

The Singing Dragon I heard happy humming sounds around this area. What Pokémon do you think is making them? Level 2 (only) As the NEO-ONE heads down the narrow path after the first open area, a humming sound can be heard. Playing a melody when the singing occurs will cause Altaria to fly overhead. Oh, it was Altaria! Thanks for finding out for me! Effect 10

(Sticker)

Little Lost Shinx Poor little Shinx got startled and hid. I’d really like to lead it back to Luxray somehow. Level 3 A Shinx can be reunited with a Luxray at the start of the route with a trail of fluffruit. It will then celebrate once reunited. Shinx and Luxray are reunited! And it’s all thanks to you. You’re the best! None
Luxray Vision When Luxray is looking for something, it uses its special ability to see through objects. You can tell it’s happening when Luxray’s eyes light up. Level 3 A Luxray in the first cave of the main route is perched atop a rock. Throwing an Illumina orb at it causes its eyes to gleam. That’s it! Was it looking for the lost Shinx when you took this photo? What a nice Pokémon. None
A Skilled Hunter Talonflame looks so cool when it snatches up a fluffruit! But I just can’t get the timing right when I try to take a photo of that exact moment. Level 2 (only) Fluffruit can be thrown onto the rocky lava in the open area before entering the volcano. A Talonflame will swoop down with a burst of embers. Gah, you got it?! Oh wow, and it’s such a clear shot, too! How’d you do it?! Mouth 4

(Sticker)

A Goofy Pose Tyrantrum got really mad when Monferno stuck its rear out at it, but I thought it was all in good fun! I’d like to get a closer shot of it, actually. Level 1 (only) A Monferno can be found in the very last chamber of the route. Throwing an Illumina orb at it will cause it to perform a number of poses, one of which will involve it sticking its bottom out. Ah, great—thank you! It really is pretty silly, isn’t it? None
Rest Your Wings Aerodactyl can’t walk very well, so it won’t land at all if it’s feeling cautious. It probably only eats fluffruit when it’s on the ground, though. Level 2+ Once the Typhlosion in the last chamber of the alternate route run away, fluffruit can be thrown onto the ground. Aerodactyl will swoop down and eat the fluffruit. Hey, look at that! You caught quite the rare moment on camera! Good job! Sparkles 4

(Sticker)

A Quaking Volcano I heard a really loud noise near Tyrantrum, then all this rubble started falling down around me! What happened back there?! Level 3 Throwing Illumina orbs at two Monferno in the first cave on the main route causes them to approach a sleeping Tyrantrum and wake it up. Tyrantrum will roar at them in anger and run towards a wall. Whoa! So Tyrantrum got mad and smashed into the wall, and that sent the whole volcano rumbling?! Wowww! Effect 15

(Sticker)

When Graveler Shows Its Hand Graveler has four arms, but I haven’t seen it use the inner set much at all. When do you suppose it uses those arms? Level 1+ When a Graveler is fed a fluffruit, it may occasionally use its inner hands rather than its outer hands. This appears to occur the most readily with the Graveler that appears in the middle of the final lava chamber on the main route (this Graveler only appears after it is dropped with a fluffruit at an earlier point in the route). I see! So it uses those arms to eat! Effect 13

(Sticker)

Archeops at Ease Archeops is a very cautious Pokémon, but I think it might eat a fluffruit if it feels safe and secure. Level 2 (only) Archeops in the open area before entering the volcano can be fed fluffruit. Oh good, it did eat it! Thanks for checking for me! None
Climbing the Lavafall Rita claims she saw a Slugma going up a lavafall. She’s gotta be making that up, right? Level 1, 3 A Slugma hanging upside down in the final chamber of the main route can be knocked off into the lava below with a fluffruit. If it is then illuminated with an orb, it will climb up a lavafall. Whoa, it really is going up the lava! I better apologize to Rita! None
So Excited! I was taking photos of a Torkoal when it suddenly stood up on its hind legs! I was so surprised, I forgot to get a picture of it! Level 3 A sleeping Torkoal in the final chamber of the main route can be awoken by a nearby Monferno when an Illumina orb is thrown at it. It will then raise its front legs in response to being woken up. Yeah, that’s exactly what it looked like! Torkoal’s usually so relaxed, I never expected to see it get up like this. Rita (Surprised)

Volcanic Hide-and-Seek There are Charmander all over the place in the volcano. Do you think something might happen if you find a bunch of them? Level 3 The first crystabloom present up on a rock in the final room of the main route can be illuminated. Fluffruit can then be thrown to an area where three Charmander are present, which will attract further Charmander. The Charmander will group into a circle, and if a melody is played, a Charizard will fly into this group of Charmander. As Charizard lands, the Charmander will celebrate. I didn’t realize there were this many Charmander! They look like they’re all having so much fun together! None
Red-Hot Energy The Illumina energy in this area is particularly strong. I suspect that even the slightest impact could cause an unusual reaction. Level 2+ Two Charmander can be found in the blue lava room of the alternate route. Once Illumina orbs are thrown at it, a Graveler higher up can be dropped when disrupted with fluffruit. Graveler will fall through the ground, causing the lava to glow, and Charizard will burst up through the rocky lava. My suspicion was confirmed! I can tell from that photo just how intense that heat is! Monitor: Professor Mirror

(Frame)

Typhlosion Explosion This appears to be Typhlosion’s territory. Do you think it’ll get mad if a strong-looking Pokémon gets too close? Level 3 When the Typhlosion at the start of the route is interrupted with a fluffruit, it will reappear above and behind the NEO-ONE in the open area before entering the volcano. Throwing an Illumina orb at it causes it to spout fire. Wow, that’s impressive! I feel bowled over just looking at this photo! None
3,000-Degree Flames Flareon’s flames can reach temperatures in the thousands. The NEO-ONE is fireproof, though, so go ahead and get some good shots of it! Level 3 Flareon in the blue lava room can be fed fluffruit. It may occasionally burn the fruit before eating. Wow, those are some really impressive flames! You did a great job photographing it! None
A Slice of Rainbow Apparently there’s a Legendary Pokémon around the volcano. Keep an eye on the sky, and maybe you’ll see something! Level 3 Taking a photo of Ho-Oh flying anywhere on the route completes this request. It’s not every day someone gets a photo of Ho-Oh! But then again, you’re not just any photographer. 141
Talonflame
2 A Talonflame appears in the tunnel when the alternate route is taken. It will appear once the Volcarona has been illuminated with an Illumina orb in this tunnel.
142
Monferno
2 Monferno can be found in the first room. It will interact with Volcarona if one of the Volcarona has been illuminated.
146
Archeops
2 An Archeops appears in the tunnel on the alternate route if Volcarona has been illuminated early on as it begins to head into the tunnel. Two Archeops appear in the second room. They will first fly around a crystabloom before approaching the Volcarona.
154
Volcarona
1-2 Two Volcarona can be found flying throughout the route. They will be surrounded with fire which can be removed once fluffruit has been thrown at them. They can only be illuminated with Illumina orbs once the fire has been removed.
★★★★ Research level 1+: Once both Volcarona have been illuminated in the second room, they will inspect a crystabloom together.
Alternatively, while they are inspecting this crystabloom, activating the crystabloom with an Illumina orb will cause one of the Volcarona to surround itself in fire and dance. This will also yield a ★★★★ photo.
