Space-Time Smackdown (Japanese: 時空の激闘 Intense Fight of Space and Time) is the second main expansion of cards in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.

Information

Space-Time Smackdown is the second main expansion released through Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. The expansion focuses heavily on Generation IV, with many of its cards featuring Pokémon, characters, and locations from the Sinnoh region. It also sees the introduction of Pokémon Tool cards to the game, as well as the Burned and Confused Special Conditions. Its two booster packs are themed around Dialga and Palkia, the game mascots and featured Legendary Pokémon of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl—and their remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl—respectively.

Its Japanese name is an amalgamation of the first and final Pokémon Card Game DP expansions in Japan, Space-Time Creation (時空の創造) and Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky (破空の激闘), which were released internationally as Diamond & Pearl and Stormfront.

Several of the Themed Collections made available alongside Space-Time Smackdown also reference elements of Sinnoh and the Generation IV games:

  • Legends of Newmoon Island and Fullmoon Island feature the islands' inhabitants, Darkrai and Cresselia respectively;
  • Giants Unleashed features Regigigas and the legendary giants, all of which feature artwork which may depict Snowpoint Temple;
  • Battle with Champion Cynthia features Cynthia and the five Generation IV Pokémon on her champion battle team;
  • Ecosystem of Stark Mountain features Heatran and other Pokémon that can be found in Stark Mountain, all of which feature artwork depicting it;
  • New Discoveries of the Sinnoh Region features 21 Pokémon that evolve from Pokémon introduced prior to Generation IV;
  • Team Galactic, Assemble! features Cyrus and other Team Galactic members alongside some of their commonly used Pokémon.

Additionally, two further Themed Collections make reference to Pokémon Platinum, a follow-up and upper version to Diamond and Pearl:

  • Unknown Distortion World features Giratina in its Origin Forme alongside lake guardians Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf, refering their expanded story role in Platinum and the introduction of Giratina's Origin Forme;
  • Mischievous Shapeshifters features Rotom in its various forms, which were first introduced in Platinum following Rotom's introduction in Diamond and Pearl.
