Pasio Gold Rush (Japanese: パシオに迫る金色の影！ A Golden Shadow Looms Over Pasio!) was a solo event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on Hikers.

During this event, players could earn Nuggets from battles against Hikers which could be redeemed in the shop. Obtaining 300 Nuggets would unlock the story area Familiar Faces. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra Nuggets were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.

First run

The event first ran from May 1 to 9, 2022, lasting a total of eight days. It ran alongside the story event A Golden Future and the Daily Battle event The Golden Magikarp.

Second run

The event from May 5 to 17, 2023, lasting a total of twelve days. In addition, the amount of Nuggets earned from battles was smaller compared to the first run. The Golden Magikarp reran alongside it, but A Golden Future did not.

Third run

The event reran again from April 27 to May 10, 2024. Both The Golden Magikarp and A Golden Future reran alongside it. Everything else was the same as the previous run, including the event's duration.

Ethan	Huh. I met someone like that in Viridian Forest.
Kris	Me too...

Dawn	I met someone like that at the Resort Area back in Sinnoh. I wonder if it was the same person.

<player> and Steven split up to search for the rumored hikers, until eventually...
(The player emerges from a cave and finds some hikers)
Hiker (1)	Hey there! If you're here on this golden path, that can only mean one thing!
Hiker (2)	You're here 'cause you want a present, right?
Hiker (3)	We'd be happy to share some with you right away, but first...
Hiker (4)	We've just arrived on Pasio, so we're new sync pairs! And we're itching to battle!
Hiker (2)	We'll give you your present if you can beat us!
Hiker (1)	There's no need to be so shy! After all, we are— Well...I guess right now, we're just your normal, average hikers! Time for a battle, then! Let's go, guys!
(The hikers laugh, but the player is flustered)

Pasio Gold Rush was part of a series of special gold-themed events held to celebrate Pokémon Masters EX reaching forty million downloads worldwide. Other events in this series included the story event A Golden Future and the Daily Battle event The Golden Magikarp.
The characters in this event allude to several NPCs who give out Nuggets in the core series games:
- Red and Leaf met the man mining for gold in Three Isle Path.
- Ethan and Kris met the man who lives on Kanto Route 2, just outside of Viridian Forest.
- Dawn met the man in the middle of Sinnoh Route 229, just north of the Resort Area.
- Brendan met the man on the third floor of Mauville City.
- Elio heard rumors about the man in the Malie City ferry terminal.
