A Sweet Secret (Japanese: エレガントなスイーツを Elegant Sweets) was a solo event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on sync pairs with the Fancy Lady and Sweet Tooth theme skills.

During this event, players could earn event vouchers from battles which could be redeemed in the shop.

First run

The event first ran from April 24 to May 8, 2022. The "Triple Feature Spotlight Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Caitlin & Reuniclus, Lillie & Clefairy, and Bea & Sirfetch'd for the duration of the event.

Battles rewarded players with Event Voucher W. Additionally, Daily Extreme Battle 1 could only be challenged once per day.

The player could battle using Lillie & Clefairy, Bea & Sirfetch'd, or Caitlin & Reuniclus to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; Hilbert (Fall 2020) & Mightyena, Serena (Palentine's 2021) & Whimsicott, Dawn (Palentine's 2021) & Alcremie, Bea (Palentine's 2022) & Vanilluxe, Lillie (New Year's 2021) & Ribombee, Marnie & Morpeko, Acerola (Fall 2020) & Mimikyu, Erika (Holiday 2020) & Comfey, Evelyn & Entei, or Lillie (Special Costume) & Polteageist to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and all unlisted sync pairs with Fancy Lady and Sweet Tooth theme skills to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers. All sync pairs with those theme skills received a bonus to their Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def stats when used for this event.

Second run

The event reran from November 24 to December 8, 2022. Battles rewarded players with Event Voucher L. Additionally, Daily Extreme Battle 1 could only be challenged once per day.

The player could battle using Lillie & Clefairy, Bea & Sirfetch'd, or Caitlin & Reuniclus to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; Serena (Palentine's 2021) & Whimsicott, Dawn (Palentine's 2021) & Alcremie, Acerola & Palossand, Erika & Vileplume, or Marnie & Morpeko to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and all unlisted sync pairs with Fancy Lady and Sweet Tooth theme skills to obtain +0.2× bonus items. All sync pairs with those theme skills received a bonus to their Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def stats when used for this event.

Plot

Kahili, Caitlin, and Lillie are talking together inside of the Battle Villa when Evelyn nervously approaches them and informs them that some people wanted to ask them for advice. A Rising Star, an Ace Trainer, and a Black Belt walk up behind her and explain that they want to get gifts for their mentors in order to thank them. Their mentors really love sweets, and they've figured that, since the trio of ladies are used to fancy things, they might know where to get extra-special ones. Kahili says that, while they can help, they're reluctant to give up their exclusive dessert spots just because of a request. The three Trainers plead with them to reconsider, and Caitlin suggests giving the information in exchange for an interesting battle. Kahili agrees, and Lillie asks to join in, as she knows a lot about sweets. The Trainers thank them, and Caitlin, getting serious, asks them to give their best effort not to make the battle boring.

Later, Bea, Bruno, and Grant are talking to each other on a mountain trail when the three Trainers walk up to them and give them the sweets. Bea is delighted by the elegant-looking treats, while Grant wonders how they obtained them. The Trainers explain that they went through intense training with some fancy ladies so that they could learn about their super-secret dessert spots, and Bruno assures them that they're stronger for it. Bea suddenly becomes alarmed and questions if they told the ladies who the sweets were for, and the Trainers reassure her that they didn't give any names. Grant laughs and comments that, as athletes, they need to be careful with their public image, although he has trouble hiding his sweet tooth. Bruno says that, although he doesn't really hide it, people are surprised to learn that he likes sweets. Grant says they should keep it a secret and encourages everyone to dig in.

Back inside the Battle Villa, Kahili, Caitlin, Lillie, and Evelyn have been joined by Erika, Acerola, and Marnie. Lillie wonders who the sweets were for, and Acerola comments that the Trainers mentioned something about muscles. Kahili supposes that the mentors were mentoring them in more than just battle, and Caitlin says the only person like that she can think of is Bruno. Marnie thinks that Bea also has a sweet tooth, and Evelyn hesitantly suggests that Grant does as well. Erika chuckles and remarks that you'd never know that those three actually love sweets, despite their athletic dispositions.
