Three Rivals, Three Ways (Japanese: 三者三様のライバルたち Three Rivals, Three Ways) was a solo event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pairs Marnie & Cinderace, Hop & Rillaboom, and Bede & Inteleon.
The "Triple Feature Variety Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Marnie & Cinderace, Hop & Rillaboom, and Bede & Inteleon from the beginning of the event to December 24, 2024.
During this event, players could earn Event Vouchers I from battles that could be redeemed in the shop. Obtaining 2,000 vouchers would unlock the story area Who We Truly Want to Beat.... All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.
The player could battle using Marnie & Cinderace, Hop & Rillaboom, or Bede & Inteleon to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; and any unlisted sync pairs with the
Galar theme skill to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.
Plot
To help Professor Bellis research Pokémon Eggs from the Galar region, Hop, Marnie, and Bede are asked to raise a Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble that hatched from Eggs. Bede allows Hop and Marnie to choose first, but Grookey approaches Hop before anyone can make a choice. So, Hop decides to raise Grookey. Then, Marnie decides to raise Scorbunny, and Bede decides to raise Sobble. Hop suggests that they start battling each other after they've trained up the Pokémon they chose, and the other two agree.
So, after Hop, Marnie, and Bede have evolved their Pokémon into Rillaboom, Cinderace, and Inteleon, respectively, they meet back up to battle each other. Each of them gets one win and one loss, so they all acknowledge each other's strength and vow not to lose next time. However, the people they truly want to beat are Victor and Gloria. At that moment, Victor and Gloria arrive and are shocked to see that Hop, Marnie, and Bede have Inteleon, Cinderace, and Rillaboom. Hop, Marnie, and Bede exchange glances as they all get the same idea, and they decide to take on Victor and Gloria in battle.

- Which Pokémon Will You Choose?
| Name | Text |
|---|---|
| (Square; Hop, Marnie, and Bede are gathered with Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble behind them) | |
| Marnie | You want us to help Professor Bellis? |
| Hop | That's right! We'll be helping her research Pokémon Eggs from the Galar region! She said she wants us to raise these three Pokémon that hatched from Eggs! |
| Bede | Hmm... They bring back memories of Gloria and Victor. |
| Marnie | So we're each supposed to take one to raise? |
| Hop | That's right! I wonder which I should choose. |
| Bede | You two can decide first. Being the elitest of all of the elite, I must show my confidence rather than seem too eager. |
| Hop | I think saying it aloud defeats the purpose... |
| (Grookey runs up to Hop) | |
| Hop | Oh? You wanna come with me? |
| (Grookey cries out) | |
| Hop | All right! Let's be friends, Grookey! |
| Marnie | Then I guess I'll choose this one. Nice to meet ya, Scorbunny! |
| (Scorbunny runs up to Marnie and cries out) | |
| Bede | I'll take care of Sobble, then. |
| (Sobble runs up to Bede and cries out) | |
| Bede | You're very lucky. After all, as my Pokémon, you've a dazzling future ahead of you. |
| (Sobble is confused) | |
| Hop | Right, then. I'll be reporting our progress to Professor Bellis. In the meantime... Once we've trained up these Pokémon, the three of us can have some battles! |
| (Grookey cries out) | |
| Marnie | OK! I won't lose! |
| (Scorbunny cries out) | |
| Bede | Oh, please. The outcome is obvious. But fine, I suppose I'll entertain this. |
| (Sobble cries out; transition to a field) | |
| Sometime later... | |
| (Rillaboom beats its drum, and Hop poses in front of it) | |
| Hop | All right! |
| (Cinderace kicks a pebble with its foot, and Marnie poses behind it) | |
| Marnie | Heh! |
| (Inteleon shoots water from its finger, and Bede poses beside it) | |
| Bede | Hmph. |
| Hop | Well then, here we go! |
| (Hop, Marnie, and Bede prepare to battle) | |
- Who We Truly Want to Beat...
| Name | Text |
|---|---|
| (Field) | |
| Hop | As for the battles... |
| Marnie | Looks like we're all evenly matched, with one win and one loss. |
| Bede | You're more capable than I thought. I let my guard down. |
| Hop | But next time, we won't lose! Right, Rillaboom? |
| (Rillaboom cries out) | |
| Marnie | We're gonna score ourselves a victory, too! |
| (Cinderace cries out) | |
| Bede | Stop with this pointless struggle. In the end, Inteleon and I will have the last laugh. |
| (Inteleon cries out) | |
| Hop | But really, who we truly want to beat is... |
| ??? | Hey! |
| (Gloria and Victor run up) | |
| Gloria | Wow, an Inteleon! And Cinderace, too! |
| Victor | Even a Rillaboom! |
| (Hop, Bede, and Marnie all exchange glances) | |
| Marnie | ...You thinkin' what I'm thinkin'? |
| Bede | Hmph. It seems for once we're on the same page. |
| Marnie | Wanna try takin' them on? |
| Hop | Yeah! It can count toward our research, too! |
| Victor | Huh? What's all this about? |
| Bede | It seems there's little choice. I suppose I can join you just a bit longer. |
| (Hop, Marnie, and Bede smile) | |
