Plot

During a stormy day, Ludlow and his Quagsire stand on the deck of the Brave Olivine, overlooking the harsh sea when Quagsire senses a disturbance. In response, Ludlow changes into Mighty G and calls out his Sharpedo before all three jump into the sea. At the same time, Amethio's Corviknight is having trouble getting through the harsh weather conditions despite an island being in view. Just then, Mighty G arrives and helps Amethio, who is confused by the man's appearance. Once the two seek refuge in a cave, Mighty G attempts to leave due to his back pain while Amethio wants to go through the cave in hopes of finding Zygarde Cells, but he doesn't make it far before collapsing from hunger. Mighty G and Quagsire give Amethio ingredients to make curry rice before leaving him so that Mighty G can safely change back. When Ludlow peeks from the entrance, he becomes concerned when he sees Amethio standing around and not doing anything. He enters the cave again as Mighty G and asks Amethio about his cooking skills, which is not much since the most he can do is roast Berries. As such, Mighty G teaches Amethio how to cook curry. During the cooking process, Mighty G realizes Amethio is still wet from the storm when the latter sneezes and teaches him how to properly dry his clothes. By the end of everything, Amethio is amazed not only by his clothes being fully dry but also by the pot of curry cooking in front of him. Mighty G tries to leave again, but he stays behind so that Amethio can experience eating curry with company present for the first time. While the Pokémon enjoy the curry by themselves, Mighty G and Amethio talk about Amethio's intentions once the storm passes. Amethio reveals he wants to prove the path he's taking is the right one to his late grandfather, and Mighty G advises him that stopping once in a while is also right in itself. Looking to the Pokémon, Amethio agrees with his unusual company and gets praised by him. When the storm passes, Mighty G and his Pokémon return to the sea while Amethio resumes his journey with Ceruledge and Corviknight.

Dot, Quaxwell, and Tinkatuff welcoming Gimmighoul to their team

Meanwhile, the Rising Volt Tacklers have arrived at the beach now that the storm is over. Liko, Roy, and Uruto are enjoying their time swimming while Dot watches before announcing she's returning to the airship. When Mollie and Orla call the three remaining kids back to hydrate themselves, they see Dot searching around for something, which is a Gimmighoul Coin, making her annoyed at having been controlled by Gimmighoul again. At that moment, Liko and Roy see a crowd of people waiting for Gholdengo so that they can enjoy surfing with the Coin Entity Pokémon, with Murdock, Lycanroc, and Captain Pikachu coming up to the kids their own surfboards. Murdock invites the kids to try surfing, but Dot refuses again, opting to edit videos in her room. Unfortunately, Dot continues to get controlled by Gimmighoul despite her attempts to stop it. She calls for Quaxwell and Tinkatuff to return with her after getting controlled again, but she sees the longing look in the Practicing Pokémon's eyes as he looks at the others surfing. Despite her reluctance, Dot ultimately chooses to surf to make Quaxwell happy, much to the shock of the others. Led by Gholdengo, the Rising Volt Tacklers wait for the next wave on their respective surfboards, with Gimmighoul stowing away on Dot's and she allows it to join her. When a coin falls out of its chest, Gimmighoul jumps in to catch it and starts drifting away until Dot rescues it. A huge wave approaches and everyone has a fun time surfing on it.

At sunset, everyone bids Gholdengo farewell as Dot looks at Gimmighoul with a contemplative look. Ludlow, whose back is still recovering from him becoming Mighty G for a lengthy period earlier, meets up with Liko and Roy as they tell him how their day went excitingly when they see Dot talking with Gimmighoul. Having been controlled by the Coin Chest Pokémon plenty of times, Dot wondered how to stop it from happening until she saw how Gimmighoul idolized Gholdengo like she does with Iono. Being able to understand how Gimmighoul feels about this, Dot decides to help Gimmighoul collect coins and asks to catch it, which Gimmighoul agrees to happily, joining her team. Even though Dot tells Gimmighoul there's no need for it to control her or her Pokémon again since they're a team now, it still does so later when Dot was telling Mollie about her newest capture.
