Ember can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 4 bonus appeal points if Sunny Day was used in the previous turn.

In Fast-Thinking Froakie, Y told her Fletchling, Fletchy, to use Ember, but the move was never seen being executed. At the time, Fletchling was unable to learn Ember before evolving into Fletchinder.
In A Photoshoot and the Abandoned Thrifty Megamart, Sun's Torracat, Dollar, was confirmed to know Ember through his use of Inferno Overdrive. However, he has never been seen using it.
