Dual Wingbeat (Japanese: ダブルウイング Double Wing) is a damage-dealing Flying-type multistrike move introduced during Generation VIII, in The Isle of Armor. It is TM197 in Generation IX.

Effect

Dual Wingbeat inflicts damage, hitting twice per use. Each strike has an equal chance to be a critical hit.

Dual Wingbeat will hit again if the first strike breaks a substitute. Counter will only acknowledge the second strike of this move.

If the target has an Ability that activates upon contact or a Rocky Helmet, each strike counts individually, enabling the Ability or Rocky Helmet to activate twice.

If a Focus Sash activates before the last strike is dealt, the following strike will cause the defending Pokémon to faint. A Focus Band can still activate repeatedly to prevent fainting, but each chance is independent. Sturdy will activate with each hit if the defending Pokémon has a maximum HP of 1.

If the user is holding a King's Rock or Razor Fang, each consecutive hit has an equal chance to cause the opponent to flinch.

If the target has Weak Armor or Stamina, each strike will activate it.

Pokémon UNITE

In Pokémon UNITE, Dual Wingbeat is one of Scyther's possible second moves. It is obtained by reaching level 5 and choosing to upgrade Fury Cutter into it instead of Bullet Punch. By doing so, Scyther will not evolve into Scizor.

Dual Wingbeat has the user slash in front of itself with both of its scythes, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon in the X-shaped area of effect. If an opposing Pokémon is hit right in the center of the area of effect, the user's HP is restored. If Dual Wingbeat hits an opposing Pokémon, it can be used again within a set amount of time; doing so makes the user dash in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits. The lower the opposing Pokémon's HP, higher will be the damage dealt by this dash.

By reaching level 11, Dual Wingbeat is upgraded into Dual Wingbeat+, and the damage dealt by the move is increased.
