Pokémon Adventures

X & Y arc

The Battle Chatelaines debuted in Pinsir Glares. At the shore of Kiloude City, the they found an unconscious Blaine, who was injured after being sent flying by the firing of the ultimate weapon. They took Blaine to the Battle Maison and allowed him to rest and recuperate there. Later, in Malamar Traps, the sisters saw a recovered Blaine off.

In the TCG

Morgan's card, Morgan, is the reward for playing a deck full of the Battle Chatelaines.
Evelyn's card, Evelyn, is an example of the kind of design the other Battle Chatelaines' cards use. All of their uncommon rarity cards are set in the Battle Maison!

The Battle Chatelaines all received cards in Team Up, which were designed to be played together. The Nita, Evelyn, and Dana cards are all Supporters which can only be played conditionally. Namely, each has a restriction which only allows them to be played if the opponent's Active Pokémon is of a specific stage. Morgan is the top end for playing the full set: It has a restrictive cost of discarding a copy of Nita, a copy of Evelyn, and a copy of Dana from one's hand, on top of being a Supporter card itself. The payoff is suitably immense, attaching every Energy card in the top twelve cards of the deck to any Pokémon, in any combination.

Trivia

  • The Battle Chatelaines are named after different times of the day.
  • The Battle Chatelaines use every Legendary trio (save for the game mascot trios, which are banned from the Battle Maison), except for the lake guardians.
  • Regardless of the music theme chosen by the player for battles in the Battle Maison, the Battle Chatelaines always have Battle! (Elite Four) as their battle theme in X and Y, and a remix of the Generation III Frontier Brain theme as their battle theme in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
    • Unlike the other battle facility leaders, they have the games' Elite Four theme instead of the Champion theme.
  • The length of their gloves represents their age. For example, Morgan, who is the oldest, has gloves all the way up from her hands to her shoulders, while Nita, who is the youngest, only has gloves that cover her hands.
  • In the Japanese version, the Chatelaines speak in the Hakata dialect, which is spoken in Fukuoka city, located in Kyūshū, which Hoenn is based on.[1] This is noted in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, as all four Chatelaines comment on having returned to Hoenn after a long time, and Morgan specifically mentions that they were born there.
    • In the English version, they speak using an Irish accent instead (visible through specific Irish turns of phrase, such as all four referring to the player as "pet", Nita saying "I'm scarlet for you" upon the player's loss in her Single Battle, and Dana saying "I'm morto for them" upon the player's loss in her Multi Battle with Evelyn).
  • Their personalities may have been inspired by Little Women's four March sisters.
  • The types of the sync pairs the Battle Chatelaines form in Pokémon Masters EX is identical to the secondary types of the treasures of ruin: Fire, Grass, Ice and Ground.
