Los Angeles County
Los Angeles, the county seat of Los Angeles County
Los Angeles County was a county in the Southland, a subregion of Southern California. Cities in this county included Beverly Hills, Burbank, Los Angeles, and Santa Monica. Many of the communities in this county were built upon the Los Angeles Basin.
Each fall, the Santa Ana winds brought dry air from the Great Basin into this county. These winds contribute to the conditions which could cause wildfires. (PIC: "Watcher")
In 2024, there was an unprecedented number of wildfires, with three serious fires in one month alone. In a press conference, the fire chief of the county told reporters that they were looking at the worst fire season in over a century. The wildfires were the subject of an article in the January 21, 2024, issue of the Los Angeles Times. (PIC: "Watcher")
In 2047, this region was affected by the Hermosa Quake. A major portion of the county's oceanfront land sank into the Pacific Ocean, resulting in a coral reef that was 200 meters deep and rich in marine organisms. (VOY: "Future's End")
Twice in the history of this county, visitors from the future came here to restore the timeline. (VOY: "Future's End", "Future's End, Part II"; Star Trek: Picard second season)
