Training Area
The Training Area[note 1] (Japanese: トレーニングエリア Training Area) is a mode in Pokémon Masters EX that allows players to collect useful items by battling other NPC Trainers.
Initially, the Training Area consisted of courses and supercourses. Regular courses were always available and could be played endlessly. Supercourses could only be played once per day (three times prior to version 1.5.0, released on December 23, 2019) for each difficulty mode, but provided more rewards and regularly rotated at set times. Occasionally a rally would enable the player to play each supercourse up to six times.
The Training Area had a major change with version 1.12.0 (released on July 29, 2020) and now consists of various areas that allow the player to obtain specific items such as Skill Spheres. With this update, the co-op mode Special Training and EX Challenges were moved to the EX Plaza. Courses, supercourses and single-player Special Training were entirely removed. If a rally was active, it gave the player a 1.5× increase in rewards for each battle. Starting from January 6, 2024, a rally gives the player a 2× increase in rewards for each battle.
From version 1.11.0 (released on June 25, 2020) onward, players have a chance of obtaining an Egg after completing a battle in the Training Area.

This area has been available since version 1.12.0 (released on July 29, 2020). Battles in this area can be challenged a total of 10 times per day.
Initially, each of these battles cost a different amount of stamina: 10 for Normal difficulty, 15 for Hard difficulty, and 20 for Very Hard difficulty. In version 2.1.0 (released on September 28, 2020), the stamina costs were tweaked so that all difficulty levels cost 10 stamina. In version 2.12.0 (released on August 26, 2021), the stamina cost was removed entirely, so these areas no longer cost stamina to play.

Special Training: Battle Techniques
In version 1.5.0, the area info for Reach Past Your Limits!, Switch-In Moves!, and Get Stronger with Gear! was made unobtainable. However, players who had already obtained this area info could continue to access it. From version 1.12.0, these three battles have been removed entirely. The other two battles have been moved to the EX Plaza.

Rallies
The Training Area Reward Boost Rally applies a multiplier to the battle rewards a player earns from a training area. The rally from April 27 to May 10, 2024 first began giving out Stamina Refill items to players as log-in bonuses during the rally period.
