Set 4 →

The third Pokémon Mezastar set was released on February 10, 2021 and consisted of 70 tags.

Information

The third set introduced the Dynamax mechanic to Pokémon Mezastar, which operated in a similar manner to the existing Mega Evolution mechanic. Pokémon with a Dynamax mark on their tags had a chance to Dynamax or Gigantamax when they attacked during a game. While in this state, Pokémon attained increased stats, could gain boosted bonuses from the Attack Roulette, and could use any Max Moves or G-Max Moves detailed on their tags. Pokémon would remain in this state for a maximum of three turns, reverting back to normal at the end of the final turn or if they became unable to battle. Only one Pokémon could Dynamax or Gigantamax per session. Tyranitar, Charizard, Metagross, Pikachu, and Flygon all supported the mechanic in this set.

The Tao trio of Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem were featured as Grade 6 Superstar Pokémon, as was the Diving Pokémon Lugia. Gyarados, Garchomp, and the Mythical Pokémon Diancie also debuted as Superstar Pokémon, each of which had the ability to Mega Evolve. The forces of nature Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus premiered as Grade 5 Star Pokémon, as did the final Evolutions of the Unova first partner Pokémon, Serperior, Emboar, and Samurott; the latter trio also had access to Z-Moves. The set featured numerous other Generation V and VIII lines plus the Generation IV Eeveelutions.

Players with Memory tags could add up to three new Partner Pokémon from this set: Magnemite, Mime Jr., and Gible. Players using the Mezastar Club at any time during the duration of this set could receive a digital Support Pokémon Ticket for a Blastoise. Physical Support Pokémon Tickets were also distributed in Shogakukan publications throughout the set's duration.
