Information

The final Pokémon Mezastar set featured the Mega Evolved forms of Mewtwo as its focal Pokémon, which were depicted on Grade 6 Superstar tags. All of Pokémon Mezastar's powered-up mechanics were represented by Legendary and Mythical Pokémon in this set: Grade 5 Star Latias and Latios tags accompanied Mewtwo in supporting the Mega Evolution mechanic; Grade 6 Ice Rider and Shadow Rider Calyrex, a Grade 6 Mew, and a Grade 5 Diancie could all Terastallize; Grade 6 Zacian and Zamazenta could summon each other as Super Tag partners; a Grade 6 Origin Forme Giratina, plus Grade 5 Cresselia and Resolute Form Keldeo, could Dynamax; a Grade 6 Altered Forme Giratina could use Double Move; a Grade 6 Rayquaza and a Grade 5 Marshadow could use Z-Moves; Grade 5 Land Forme and Sky Forme Shaymin, as well as a Grade 5 Jirachi, could all use Chain Attacks.

The set included the remaining six Paradox Pokémon introduced in the base versions of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that had yet to feature in Pokémon Mezastar: Slither Wing, Sandy Shocks, Roaring Moon, Iron Moth, Iron Thorns, and Iron Valiant. Ten Pokémon from this set could also be encountered and obtained as Gorgeous tags: Mewtwo, Mewtwo, Roaring Moon, Iron Valiant, Poliwag, Porygon2, Banette, Abomasnow, Klang, and Hatenna.

Similarly to the final Pokémon Ga-Olé set, all Grade 6 and 5 tags in this set feature a Meteor Mark (Japanese: ながれぼしマーク), indicating they could be used with Pokémon Mezastar's successor, Pokémon Frienda. If any of these tags were scanned on a Pokémon Frienda machine during gameplay, the depicted Pokémon would be instated as a Support Pokémon. If summoned, the Pokémon would use the normal move detailed on its tag, regardless of any powered-up moves. Additionally, players could scan any Grade 6 tag sourced from the first four Gorgeous Star series sets to instate Dragonite as a Support Pokémon, or any Grade 5 tag from the same range of sets to instate Pikachu.[1]

For the first time since its introduction in the third Super Tag set, there was no Weekly Stamp incentive for Memory tag users; they could however add up to three new Pokémon to their Partner Pokémon roster: Mankey, Rhyhorn, and Frigibax. Each Partner Pokémon could be evolved through to their final stage by earning Star Points during gameplay. As this was the last set, all Star Points earned were doubled. There was also no new Support Pokémon Ticket available for Mezastar Club users, although they could still redeem the Krookodile Support Pokémon Ticket released in the previous set for a brief period and could also redeem a Present Ticket for a Superstar Sensor, which would identify the location of a Superstar Pokémon at the start of Get in Battle! mode when used.

Since the launch of the first Double Chain set, Mezastar Club users could typically participate in lotteries to receive framed pairs of Grade 6 tags; however, a different prize was offered for the final set as part of the Mezastar Club Thank You Campaign—a copy of a Gorgeous Folder Set DX, capable of displaying up to 72 tags, and a copy of a Mezastar Club Thank You Board featuring the four Mezastar Navigators. Between April 18 and May 5, 2024, Mezastar Club users could spend 100 points to enter the lottery, and could do so as many times as they were able until either the end of the campaign or until all prizes had been claimed. Players would earn 10 points for every tag dispensed during the set's operation and points were not transferred from previous sets. One hundred and fifty copies of the two-prize set were available and were scheduled to be shipped to winners in mid-June.[2]

The Trainer and Battle lineup for this set consisted entirely of returning Trainer classes, as well as a returning Star Trainer, Takeru, who was part of the original lineup in the second Pokémon Mezastar set. Takeru also featured different attire to his first appearance. Battle Tickets for each opponent were available from the launch of the set on the Mezastar Club, which offered new customization options for their avatar. Four special Battle Tickets were also available at the same time, which allowed players to challenge each of the Mezastar Navigators. Players would earn medals for defeating them and clearing challenges. Players could also challenge Star Trainers Hasasu and Momoka in a Trainer Tag Battle. Those that managed to defeat the pair would each unlock formal headwear Dress-up Items for their avatar and potentially complete the outfit that began releasing in the first Gorgeous Star set.
