Information

The Fire Warrior Pokémon Armarouge and the Fire Blades Pokémon Ceruledge were featured in their Terastallized states for the first time to promote the second set of the Gorgeous Star series. The pair of Grade 6 Superstar Pokémon was among five tags in this set to support the Terastal mechanic, which also included a Grade 6 Lucario plus Grade 5 Star Pokémon Gyarados and Gardevoir. Pokémon supporting other powered-up mechanics included Grade 6 Legendary beasts Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, as well as Grade 5 Gothitelle, Obstagoon, and Cursola, which could all Dynamax; Grade 6 primal forms of Kyogre and Groudon, plus a Grade 6 Zarude, each of which could use Double Moves; Grade 5 Sceptile, Blaziken, and Marshtomp, which could use Chain Attacks; Grade 5 Walrein and Rhyperior, which could use Z-Moves; Grade 5 Roserade and Haxorus, which can summon Super Tag partners; and a Grade 5 Ampharos, which could Mega Evolve. The set also featured several other Generation IX debutants, including Grade 5 Paradox Pokémon Great Tusk and Iron Treads, as well as the evolutionary line of Baxcalibur, which itself completed the set's lineup of Grade 6 Superstar Pokémon.

Nine Pokémon from this set could be encountered and obtained as Gorgeous tags: Zarude, Rhyperior, Ampharos, Ceruledge, Lucario, Kirlia, Spheal, Litwick, and Hakamo-o. For the first time since their introduction in the second Super Tag set, there were no Legacy tags for this set; instead, players could obtain Ultra Beast tags. Starting October 19, 2023, Ultra Beast Marks could randomly appear in the middle of the screen when stations were in use, indicating that an Ultra Beast could be encountered. Ultra Beasts could take the place of any opposing Pokémon at the start of a round in Get in Battle! mode, and would appear silhouetted in a short Ultra Wormhole sequence before being introduced to the field. Tags depicting Ultra Beasts are purple in color like Legacy Tags, have Holofoil artwork like other Grade 6 tags, and "UB" next to their Grade. They also have a "U" affix in their collection number. Three Ultra Beasts made their Pokémon Mezastar debut in this set: Nihilego, Guzzlord, and Stakataka.

Players who used a Memory tag at any time during the period of September 14 to November 14, 2023 would earn a Weekly Stamp—those using a Memory tag with the same profile in a subsequent week would earn another Weekly Stamp. The reward for reaching two stamps was an Otsukimi dango costume Dress-up Item, a reference to the Tsukimi harvest moon festival observed in Japan between September 29 and October 2, 2023. The four- and six-stamp rewards were a Superstar Sensor, which would identify the location of a Superstar Pokémon at the start of Get in Battle! mode. The five-stamp reward was an Entei Emblem, which granted the chance to add Entei to the player's Support Pokémon roster during Get in Battle! mode. Players with Memory tags could also obtain three new Partner Pokémon: Dratini, Happiny, and Bagon, which could be evolved through to their final stages by accumulating Star Points. Double Star Points could be earned in two stints over the course of the set: between October 5 and 18, 2023 and between November 9 and 21, 2023. Players using the Mezastar Club at any time during the duration of this set could also receive a digital Support Pokémon Ticket for a Quaquaval and a Present Ticket to unlock an autumn pattern top Dress-up Item. A limited Present Ticket for a set of magician Dress-up Items could be redeemed through the club between October 18 and 31, 2023 in the run-up to Halloween.

The Trainer and Battle lineup for this set included two returning Trainer classes, Hot-Blooded Teacher and Fashion Leader, two new Trainer classes in Talked About Trainer and Avid Reader, and a new Star Trainer named Nagusa. Players with a Mezastar Club account could redeem Battle Tickets for each opponent and unlock new customization options for their avatar. Between September 28 and October 25, 2023, players could challenge Star Trainers Hiroki and Terina in a Trainer Tag Battle. Those that managed to defeat the pair would each unlock formal legwear Dress-up Items for their avatar, matching the style of jacket available from the Trainer Tag Battle in the previous set.[1]

Although unannounced on the Official Pokémon Mezastar website, a special Battle Ticket could be redeemed through the Mezastar Club as early as October 5, 2023,[2] which allowed players to challenge Star Trainer Sasura. Players who defeated them would unlock a Dress-up Item of Sasura's boots; an alternate version of the boots was also available to those who cleared the Battle Ticket challenges. The same opponent was also featured as part of the Gorgeous Battle! Arceus Challenge! event that ran on weekends and holidays between October 28 and November 12, 2023 at participating stores.[3] This Battle Ticket expired after November 21, 2023. Another Mezastar Club Battle Ticket was available as part of the Terastal Special Training Battle with J! campaign, a ranked event that ran between October 29 and November 21, 2023.[4] Participants would unlock a Mezastar TV logo face transfer Dress-up Item upon defeating J for the first time; a Dress-up Item of Mezastar TV shoes was also available to those who cleared the Battle Ticket challenges. Players with the top 100 scores following the end of the campaign were awarded a certificate.
