During a sudden storm, Haru tries to save a trapped Eevee but ends up being rescued by Arcanine — whose trainer is none other than her ex!

    Plot

As a heavy storm hits the Pokémon Resort, Tyler and Haru traverse the island in order to evacuate the Pokémon guests into the indoor facilities. The duo splits and Haru goes to the bridge, which has been broken from the river flooding. An Eevee is on the opposite end of the bridge, so Haru has Psyduck, Bulbasaur, and Bellsprout hold her as she reaches out to get the Eevee. She manages to catch the Eevee, but an accident causes her anchor to let go and her to almost fall into the water — luckily, an Arcanine saves Haru just in time. The Arcanine's Trainer catches up to it, and Haru realizes that the Trainer is none other than her ex-boyfriend, Kent.

While resting at the Resort lobby and waiting out the rain, Haru and Kent catch up and have an awkward chat with each other. Haru says she didn't notice Kent was visiting as she was on break when he arrived. Behind them, Alisa, Tyler, and Dan are watching the two from afar, while Psyduck looks on in envy. Haru and Kent continue their chat: Kent says he is surprised to see Haru working as a concierge, as he had previously known her as a businesswoman. Kent also reveals that he had been promoted to area manager in his workplace, and decided to celebrate by visiting the Pokémon Resort with his Arcanine. Later at night, Haru reflects on the events of the day, completely not expecting Kent to arrive at the Resort. She reminisces her memories with Kent on her phone, realizes from their conversation that he seems tired, and resolves to provide a memorable Pokémon Resort experience for Kent and his Arcanine. The next morning, Haru shows Kent the amenities the Resort has to offer while her three co-workers look on from afar; Watanabe catches them on the act and the trio immediately gets back to work.

The episode transitions to Haru, Kent, Psyduck, and Arcanine having fun on the beach. Sealeo joins in on the fun, but it accidentally crushes Haru with its weight. Later, the two have lunch that Haru made, and head to the vegetable garden where Haru works to tend the plants while Alisa's Mudkip chases the wild Diglett away. Noticing how hard Haru works at the Resort, Kent says to Haru that she must've been really unhappy back in the city and went to the island as an escape. Haru isn't sure how to answer, and she is suddenly called for another job. Watanabe walks in and chats with Kent about Haru. Watanabe explains that although Haru can seem awkward at times, she is nonetheless a wonderful concierge who puts the need of others first, such as asking Watanabe for some skin cream after noticing yesterday that Kent's Arcanine had dry paws.

At noon, Haru's group tours the windmill at the top of the island to admire the view of the sea. Haru replies to Kent that while she agrees that maybe she was trying to get away from everything when she moved to the island, she has now made the Pokémon Resort her home. Kent's Arcanine notices the tube slide installed onto the windmill, which Haru says took the entire Resort staff about two months to build. Haru, Kent, and Psyduck all take their turns sliding down, but Kent's Arcanine is stuck in the middle of the slide. Kent tries pulling on Arcanine's paws, but it doesn't work and ends up hurting its paws, and Kent can't find Arcanine's Poké Ball that would allow him to recall it. Haru helps out by reaching in and tickling Arcanine, making it laugh and loosen up so that it can slide down. Haru explains to Kent that she used to be the same way, struggling with burnout and fighting with herself, and only actually moving forward once she learns to let go and be more relaxed. Impressed by Haru's resolve, Kent thanks her for the day, and the two shake hands, although Haru's Psyduck quickly breaks them off.

Everyone continues their work as usual the next day, as Kent and his Arcanine depart from the Resort. Haru and Psyduck sit at the pier, and Haru says to herself that she's decided to stay at the Pokémon Resort, as it is where she belongs.

The episode also has a post-credits scene, which shows Haru's Psyduck sleeping on the balcony and being interrupted by a Hoppip.

    Trivia

    Errors

    • The French subtitles and the European Spanish subtitles (only when European Spanish audio is selected) incorrectly include a translation of Tatsuro Yamashita's 1982 song LOVELAND, ISLAND instead of ONOMATOPOEIA ISLAND.
