Haru's next task? Showing her new colleague the ropes! But as her little mistakes pile up, she worries if she's the right person for the job.
Plot
As the Pokémon Resort's new hire, Dan is tasked to train under Haru's tutelage. Haru first teaches him to ride the scooter, which Dan is quickly able to master, leaving Haru behind as he chases after his Sealeo. Later, when feeding Pokémon that live in the island river, Dan exhibits his talent in caring for Pokémon by teaching Magikarp to jump for food, noticing that the river water is too cold for the Magikarp, and having his Sealeo escort the Magikarp to the warmer water downstream. Dumbfounded, Haru walks up to a nearby Tyler and asks if he can take over teaching Dan, as she feels that she's not adequate enough to train another employee. Tyler declines the offer as he has experienced being yelled at by Dan when he was young, but encourages Haru to train him anyway. Haru becomes worried over Tyler's story, and Tyler reassuring Haru that Dan won't get mad at her doesn't help.
Later, Haru and Dan meet Alisa at the Resort's vegetable garden, and have Dan help out with the field work. While planting the garden, Haru notices Pansear and Pansage preparing a Berry on a bed of leaves and then setting it on fire, which causes her to panic and quickly have Panpour put the fire out, to the dismay of the other two elemental monkeys. Haru tells the monkeys not to start any fires as it is very windy. Shortly after, Haru's Psyduck gets a headache, so Haru hurriedly rushes it to Alisa, who throws some firewood so that Psyduck can redirect its intensifying Confusion psychic powers towards chopping up the firewood. Psyduck's second surge of headache causes it to levitate a basket of Payapa Berries, which Haru manages to catch, impressing Alisa and Dan.
During her break, Haru laments that she lacks enough experience to teach Dan, and decides to ask Watanabe to assign the tutoring job to someone else. Haru heads to Watanabe's desk, where she had just given Dan his concierge bandana as Alisa watches. Despite Haru's concerns, Dan compliments her on the training, telling her that he was impressed with how thoughtful she is and how well she takes care of the Pokémon at the Resort. Alisa also praises Haru for her work, and Dan thanks Haru and considers her his role model. Watanabe wishes Haru luck as she assigns her to continue Dan's training for the afternoon.
At the beach, Haru plans out the next training session for Dan, but the latter ends up distracted and takes pictures of his Sealeo and a Snorlax sleeping together, with Dedenne also present. Dan tries to send the photos to his son and daughter-in-law, but Haru explains to him that the island has poor reception, much to his disappointment. Suddenly, Alisa is heard screaming in the distance. Dan and Haru rush to the scene, where two Metagross are fighting each other and Alisa can't stop them. Dan calls on his Sealeo to block an attack from one of the Metagross, but the two Metagross are still not backing down. Dan commands the Metagross to stop fighting with a shout so loud, it can be heard over the entire island. Dan has the Metagross apologize and make up to each other, while Haru points out that he accidentally terrified all the other Pokémon with his voice. To defuse the tension, Haru decides to have her and Dan entertain the Pokémon by doing fun performances with Psyduck and Sealeo. Watanabe, Tyler, and Alisa look on from afar, noticing how Haru has bonded with Dan and become more confident in herself.
