Emergence! Lurking Steel Titan!!
(Japanese: 出現！潜鋼のヌシ！！ Emergence! Lurking Steel Titan!!) is the 17th chapter of the Scarlet & Violet arc of the Pokémon Adventures manga.
It is subtitled (Japanese: VS ミミズズ 前編 VS Mimizuzu Part One).
Plot

Scarlet and Arven ride on Miraidon's back through East Province (Area Three), dangling a sandwich in front of the Pokémon to steer it. When Miraidon shows signs of tiredness, they stop to allow it to eat the sandwich. Arven asks Scarlet why they are not simply feeding Miraidon when it stops, and she explains that this would unintentionally train Miraidon to stop moving entirely. He then worries that Miraidon will become less motivated by his sandwiches as this goes on, but to his surprise, Scarlet assures him that will not happen with his cooking.
As they continue traveling, they find several large holes in the ground, leading Scarlet to suspect they are getting close. Arven soon runs out of sandwiches, and the group stops so he can prepare more. Soon after, a large shadow appears over them. They stare up to find Orthworm, the Lurking Steel Titan, looking over their food. Scarlet and Arven send out Armarouge and Scovillain, respectively, but this scares Orthworm into diving into the ground.
Sniffing, Miraidon is able to detect where Orthworm is traveling, making Scarlet realize that it is drawn to the Titan's Herba Mystica. The two have their Pokémon follow Miraidon's lead, but Orthworm continues to flee. Noting Orthworm uses its mouth and legs to dig holes, Scarlet has Tarountula create a large web and throw it over the Titan to keep it above ground. Back on Miraidon's back, the two continue pursuing Orthworm. During their chase, Miraidon falls into one of the holes, taking its riders along with it. Sand begins to pour in after them, frightening Arven that they will be buried alive.
Meanwhile, Penny sits at the Treasure Eatery with her laptop and two Rotom Phones. On her computer, she watches footage of Clavell at the Schedar Squad's Base, listening in as Team Star Grunts explain to him about Mela, and Team Star's formation. They inform him that when a rumor sprung that Team Star was going to take over Uva Academy, many people joined because they enjoyed the idea of being on the winning side. These people then became the most disruptive members of the team, going behind Mela's back to cause trouble.
Penny's attention is then drawn away as a group of Team Star Grunts enter the Treasure Eatery. As the group sits down and discusses if the Poison Crew will get taken out as the Fire Crew did, Penny sends one of her Rotom Phones to hide under the table. She listens in as the group, angered over not being taken seriously, suggests raiding the bases before Violet and taking over Team Star themselves. Startled, Penny quickly begins to leave, but the Rotom Phone she had hidden suddenly becomes visible to the group.
The grunts rush out of the restaurant in fury, chasing after Penny. The leader of the group attempts to grab onto her Rotom Phone, but he is stopped by a waiter for not paying the bill. Someone else takes the Rotom Phone, who the waiter allows to bring it back to its owner.
As Penny stops to catch her breath, she finds herself surrounded by the grunts. To her surprise, Larry enters with her Rotom Phone, cutting into the group to return it to her.
