The MEGA Starter Set Mega Gengar ex (Japanese: スターターセットMEGA メガゲンガーexStarter Set MEGA Mega Gangar ex) is a Standard Deck for the Pokémon Trading Card Game that was released in Japan on September 5, 2025.[1] Released alongside the MEGA Starter Set Mega Diancie ex, the pair comprise the first MEGA Starter Set products released during the MEGA Series.

The MEGA Starter Set Mega Gengar ex was released in Japan on September 5, 2025. As the name implies, this deck focuses on Mega Gengar ex as the primary Pokémon, alongside various Darkness-type Pokémon and Trainer cards, including an illustration rare card of Haunter.
Both this product and the MEGA Starter Set Mega Diancie ex product contain a 60-card deck with fixed contents, featuring a mixture of new cards and reprints, as well as 62 damage counters, two status markers, a one-player playmat, a player's guide, and a coin. Its suggested retail price at launch is ¥1,800.
The MEGA Starter Set Mega Gengar ex will also be released in Traditional Chinese for the Taiwan and Hong Kong markets on September 19, 2025, with a suggested retail price of NT$ 500 / HK$ 125. The Traditional Chinese set, which is part of the 挑戰牌組 Tiǎozhàn Páizǔ / Tīujin Páaijóu (lit. "Challenge Deck") product line, has contents that are largely the same as the Japanese set, but the deck composition is different, notably including a reprint of Pecharunt ex.
Cards released in this set are included in the English Phantasmal Flames expansion.
