Generations Start Decks (TCG)

The Generations Start Decks (Japanese: スタートデッキGenerations(ジェネレーションズ) Start Deck Generations) are a collection of Standard Decks for the Pokémon Trading Card Game which were released in Japan on November 22, 2024. The collection consists of 9 decks, each one representing a generation of Pokémon games and led by two Pokémon ex.

Information

The collection is a continuation of the Start Deck products previously released in the Sun & Moon, Sword & Shield, and Scarlet & Violet Eras. Nine 60-card pre-constructed starter decks focus on each of the nine generations. Each deck is headlined by two Pokémon ex and features Pokémon and Trainer cards themed after the respective generations they are based on, including 2 copies of Professor's Research cards depicting the resident Professor of each generation. They were released in Japan on November 22, 2024.

A product named the Generations Start Deck Special Battle Set (Japanese: スタートデッキGenerations スペシャルバトルセット) will be released on the same day. This Battle Set contains the decks from Generations I, II, VIII, and IX, and four additional promo cards of Meowth, Paldean Wooper, Suicune, and Duraludon.

In Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Thailand, the Generations Start Decks were released as a product known as the Double ex Start Deck "Generations", which contains one of the 9 decks chosen at random. The Double ex Start Deck "Generations" was released in Taiwan and Hong Kong on December 20, 2024, in Indonesia on January 31, 2025, and in Thailand on February 7, 2025.

Cards in these decks are included in the English Prismatic Evolutions and Journey Together expansions, as well as various SVP Black Star Promotional cards.
