Calcite

Not to be confused with Calcium.

As you might expect, you’ll need a pickaxe to collect calcite. And at the time of writing this block’s role in the game is purely decorative. But it does make a decent building material – hard, somewhat blast-resistant, and inflammable [sic].
In fact, it’s a perfect decorative option if you want to class up your in-game bathroom. What do you mean your Minecraft house doesn’t have a bathroom? Where do you..? Never mind, I don’t want to know.

Calcite is a block of carbonate mineral, which can be used as decoration.

Obtaining

  1. These durations ignore other influential factors (e.g., Mining Fatigue) and are measured in seconds. For more information, see Breaking § Speed.

Natural generation

Calcite generates naturally as part of the structure of amethyst geodes, between the smooth basalt and block of amethyst layers. It also generates in the stony peaks in strips.

Usage

Calcite is used only for decoration. It has lower blast resistance and hardness than stone-related blocks.

Note blocks

Calcite can be placed under note blocks to produce "harp" sounds.
