Orion sector

The Orion sector was a region of Federation space in the Beta Quadrant. It bordered the Antares, Melona, Andorian, and Vulcan sectors.

In 2364, Starfleet was running the Orion Sector Tactical Command, which was responsible for coordinating tasks related to a mission or missions in this sector. (TNG: "Conspiracy", display graphic)

In the 2380s, a section of the holographic map of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, displayed to the former prisoners of Tars Lamora aboard the USS Protostar, was labeled as this sector. (PRO: "Starstruck")

Locations

Although some earlier canonical sources located this sector in the Alpha Quadrant, the current location of Orion sector in the Beta Quadrant was based on the most recent star charts seen in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Section 31.
In the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Coming of Age", a hallway sign at the Starfleet Operational Support Services base on Relva VII placed this planet in the Orion sector. This was retconned in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Disengage" by having the Relva system moved closer to the Algeron system in the Beta Quadrant.
