Orion I

Orion I was the inhabited first planet in the Pi³ Orionis system.This planet was located inside the Orion sector in the Alpha Quadrant and was approximately 26.172 light years (8 parsecs) from Sol.

Orion I was the location of a prestigious Institute of Cosmology. Crewman Mortimer Harren had hoped to attend the Institute of Cosmology there and thus signed onto the USS Voyager because a year of field experience was required for admittance. The location of Orion, a sister planet to Orion I, located this world in the Alpha Quadrant on star charts from the Star Trek: Discovery episode "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad" and in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".
