The fifth Pokémon Frienda set was released on April 24, 2025 and consisted of 74 Frienda Picks.
Information
The Legendary Tera Pokémon Terapagos was once again the focus of another set, which appeared this time in its Stellar Form. Terapagos Frienda Picks from this set were able to Terastallize into this form, which would change Tera Starstorm from a Normal-type move to a Stellar-type one. As with core series games, Stellar-type moves in Pokémon Frienda would deal double damage to opponents that were also Terastallized. Other Pokémon capable of Terastallizing from this set included Grade 5 Paradox Pokémon Walking Wake, Gouging Fire, and Raging Bolt, as well as Grade 4 Pokémon Gallade, Hatterene, and Bellibolt.
Other Grade 5 Super Treasure Pokémon comprised Xerneas and Yveltal, which served as focal Pokémon alongside Terapagos; Salamence and Kommo-o, which could use Z-Moves; plus Maushold and Dondozo, which had other attributes. Maushold’s Population Bomb move could strike up to ten times as per its core series equivalent, while Dondozo uniquely featured "& Tatsugiri" on its artwork, highlighting the interaction between the two Pokémon. Curly Form Tatsugiri would appear in-game when Dondozo used its Order Up move—this form also featured separately as a Grade 4 Treasure Pokémon, while Tatsugiri’s other two forms were included as Grade 3 Pokémon. Eeveelutions Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Glaceon also featured as a Grade 4 Treasure Pokémon following the appearance of the other four in the previous set.
Starting with this set, players with Trainer Picks and a Firenda Circle account could customize their Firenda License with the addition of Frienda Charms (Japanese: フレンダチャーム). Players would unlock Frienda Charms for achieving certain feats, such as clearing a Frienders Mission, reaching the Golden Door on Exploration Road, catching a number of Pokémon, or attaining a top 100 score during a set's operational period. Players could select up to three Frienda Charms to appear on their Firenda License via Firenda Circle. While viewing their Firenda License on a Pokémon Frienda machine, players could make individual Frienda Charms move by using the touchscreen. The Firenda Licenses of players with a Firenda Circle account also became viewable on the high score ranking pages of the official Pokémon Frienda website.
The three Trainer Battle opponents in this set comprised Sushi Artisan Miyu, Appraiser Yōji, and Master Friender Rosalie. Players with Trainer Picks that defeated an opponent would unlock a Dress-up Item based on their attire. Defeating all three opponents would also unlock a set-specific Frienda Charm. Players that managed to clear all three challenges for each opponent would unlock another Dress-up Item. The target scores for the score challenges were as follows:
- 260,000 points for Sushi Artisan Miyu
- 310,000 points for Appraiser Yōji
- 360,000 points for Master Friender Rosalie
Between June 12 and July 9, 2025, players could challenge Master Friender Sharisu in an online ranked event. This battle could be initiated by touching the event banner on the title screen and inserting ¥100 after the prompt. Players that managed to defeat Sharisu would receive an event-exclusive Frienda Charm. Those with the top 100 scores following the end of the event would become eligible for a certificate, which could be applied for through Frienda Circle.[1]
Starting with this set, players could encounter Pokémon such as Dragonite and Pidgeot in grass patches while traveling along Exploration Road. If encountered, these Pokémon would perform an Exploration Road Jump (Japanese: たんけんロードジャンプ) and transport them to the Golden Door. If an Exploration Road Jump occurred after the first or second turn, players could still play until the final turn, and stars would still be earned in the same way.
Two more Frienda Circle Present Campaign lotteries were held over the course of this set's operation. The first was open between April 24 and May 28, 2025; the second was open between May 29 and July 2, 2025. Players with Trainer Picks and a linked Frienda Circle account would earn 10 points for every Frienda Pick dispensed. During each lottery period, they could spend 100 points on the Frienda Circle campaign page in attempt to win, and could do so as many times as they were able either until the end of the period or until all prizes had been claimed. Accumulated points could be used in any lottery period, but could not be carried over from a previous set's campaign or to a subsequent one. Players that won a prize were required to submit their details by July 9, 2025. Each lottery offered 250 copies of a golden door keychain and 250 copies of a Pokémon Frienda logo keychain. The prizes were distributed at random—those for the first lottery were scheduled to be shipped in mid-June 2025; those for the second were scheduled to be shipped in late July 2025.[2]
Four new Wonder Picks became available starting May 29, 2025 featuring the final forms of the Kanto first partner Pokémon, all of which were capable of Mega Evolution. This served as a precursor to the mechanic becoming more widely featured in the subsequent Pokémon Frienda set as part of the increased coverage Mega Evolution received ahead of its reintroduction in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. These Pokémon could be encountered in Battle and Catch! mode or Catch now! mode for as long as stocks lasted. Players with Trainer Picks would unlock a Mega Evolution-themed Dress-up Item for their avatar after capturing at least one of these Pokémon.[3]
Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly remained as Partner Pokémon options for this set. Players that had fully evolved at least one Partner Pokémon could select Ralts to raise. Similar to the previous set, players using a Trainer Pick at any time between May 1 and 14, 2025 would receive a Super Treasure Sensor. Its effect would remain active for eight days inclusive of the day it was obtained. A digital Great Tusk Support Pokémon Ticket was available to Frienda Circle members that logged in while this set was in operation; other physical tickets were included in Shogakukan publications and given away at events.
