Over a year later, in HZ102, Charcadet reunited with Pagogo in the same ruins. Once it noticed some of its Pokémon friends were missing, Charcadet went looking for them with Pagogo accompanying it. Charcadet and Pagogo found its friends with Liko, as it witness her protecting them from a Laquium-afflicted Scovillain. Seeing Scovillain about to attack Liko when she went to protect Happiny, Charcadet canceled out the attack by using Ember and decided to battle the Spicy Pepper Pokémon. Thanks to its Flash FireAbility, Charcadet was able to take in the opponent's attacks and strike back with a boosted Ember, allowing Pagogo to intervene and purify the Laquium from Scovillain's body. Later, with the support of its friends, Charcadet chose to join Liko's team.
In HZ104, Charcadet accompanied its Trainer to Amethio's mansion to search for clues regarding his whereabouts. Charcadet noticed a picture of Amethio and his Charcadet on a beach, which helped the group pinpoint his location. Charcadet was then used to battle Amethio's Ceruledge, being overwhelmed by it throughout the battle. However, Charcadet bravely refused to give up and eventually landed a powerful Ember on its opponent, motivating Ceruledge to strike it down with Shadow Claw, before the battle was called off. In spite of the battle being over, Charcadet was eager to fight again, developing a rivalry with Ceruledge.
In HZ108, Charcadet and Meowscarada were used in a Double Battle against Diana's Arcanine and Wash Rotom. Using its Flash Fire ability, Charcadet kept its ally protected by absorbing Arcanine's Fire-type moves. Exploiting Charcadet's chivalry, Diana lured it into leaping in front of a Flare Blitz, then commanded Rotom to use Hydro Pump. Meowscarada moved Charcadet out of the way, but was left wide open in the process, allowing Arcanine to defeat her with another Flare Blitz. Diana lectured Charcadet for trying to protect its ally, only to end up needing to be saved and told it the importance of trusting its friends. Burning with determination, Charcadet continued the battle and successfully defeated Rotom, even learning Fire Spin, before getting overpowered and falling to Arcanine's Extreme Speed, making Diana the victor.
Charcadet, like its species, is known for having a strong fighting spirit and isn't afraid to battle tough opponents. It has a noble and heroic attitude and will also defend anyone in trouble, as seen in HZ102, when it protected the Pokémon living in its home and Liko from Karatō's Scovillain. In addition, Charcadet has a chivalrous nature, as it gets down on one knee to show its respect, devotion, and loyalty to those it considers its friends, such as Pagogo and Liko. However, as seen in HZ108, Charcadet's chivalrous nature can be used against it, as it often has a habit of trying to take on extra burdens and fighting by itself, constantly trying to protect its teammates in battle rather than trusting them to dodge or withstand attacks. Although, seeing Meowscarada willing to protect it in return and hearing Diana's advice, Charcadet learned to rely on its teammates more, rather than fight and protect them all on its own.
Charcadet instantly forged a close friendship with Pagogo when they first met, mounting on its back akin to a knight riding a steed, something the Tera Pokémon also seems to enjoy. It also became friends with Meowscarada and Hattrem, and is on good terms with them. During the events in HZ108, Charcadet developed an admiration for Meowscarada's skills in battle, and comes to look up to her not only as an older sister, but also as a mentor.
Upon witnessing Liko's compassion and kindness towards Pokémon, Charcadet took an interest in her and soon decided to join her team with a little push from its friends. Charcadet even promised Liko that it will protect her from harm and quickly formed an irreplaceable bond with her. It strongly dislikes disappointing Liko and gives its all for her, especially in Pokémon battles.
Charcadet is brave at heart, headstrong, and refuses to give up, even when facing opponents stronger than itself. Since HZ104, Charcadet developed a rivalry with Amethio's Ceruledge, although it does have respect for the Fire Blades Pokémon. It enjoys battling arguably more so than any Pokémon on Liko's team and will battle any opponent, particularly other Fire types such as Roy's Crocalor, Amethio's Ceruledge, and Diana's Arcanine.
