Temple Escape is a myth in Minecraft Legends developed by House of How, based on endless runner games.

Gameplay

Hub

The player starts the myth at night inside an open, grassy area with some buildings. At the end of the path is a large cliff with a blue portal etched upon, leading to the temple. On the right side of the portal, there is a wooden wall housing the four upgrades. These upgrades include increased damage and slowness resistance, as well as abilities to create bridges and stairs using mana, all of which unlocking new safe tiles. On the left side is another wooden wall displaying the highest score accumulated in all runs.

Temple

The temple can be accessed by interacting with the portal located at the end of the hub. There, the player enters a game of endless runner where they have to dodge obstacles. If obstacles were touched twice, the game ends, but collected gold and mana are retained in the hub inventory, although it is reset in the run inventory when a new run is started.

Obstacles

Obstacles cause the player to slow down if touched, and lose the run when they touch them twice in a short interval of time, even if they are two different obstacles. These include:

• A wall of fire chasing the player a few seconds after starting the run.
• A hall with a spiky floor and only a safe path to cross, alongside dispensers shooting arrows every second.
• Moats of lava with only a few safe tiles.
• Walls that, if not crossed safely using the stairs generating next to them, block the player, but do not damage them directly.
• Falling blocks indicated by a red landing spot before their landing.
• Flamethrowers on the side walls of the temple.

Resources

Every run provides the player with gold that they can collect by running into them. Gold can also be obtained by trying to break the gold room gate generating occasionally. A rarer resource, mana, can be found on lava moat obstacles, which can be used to create bridges and stairs provided the respective upgrades have been bought. In the hub, the player can use accumulated gold as a means of purchasing upgrades.
