Magic Carpet is a myth in Minecraft Legends developed by House of How.

Gameplay

The myth is often played in third person, the camera facing a wall in which the gameplay takes place. The player starts the myth riding a horse inside the level hub, in which Mouldywarp, a wizard, grants them the ability to mine gold in order to spend it on powerups, which they use to reach the portal platforms.

Hub

The hub consists of mainly three floors, each with a complex path and a portal hall, each with four portals. The player starts in the top floor where four portals appear, leading to the Dark Forest where gameplay occurs. The second floor has portals leading to Lichen Cave and the bottom floor is where there are portals to Warren Castle.

Levels

Each level has an increasing difficulty depending on the theme. In all levels, the player must light up the brazier to summon the Magic Carpet, a green, moving platform sliding across the map. They have to run over the carpet in order to use it. They also have the option to mine deposits of gold, which they spend on powerups.

Obstacles

The main goal of each level is reaching the end of the path without falling into the acid sea while running away from the Wall of Death, a cloud of yellow gas chasing them. Each new level has increased difficulty and adds new obstacles. These obstacles include large gaps between platforms, patches of acid, and rats trying to attack the player.

Powerups

The player occasionally encounters a deposit of gold that they mine for powerups. These powerups include:

• Bouncy Dust, an area of yellow light that launches the player upward.
• Tornado Catapult, a forward-bending tornado that launches the player to where it faces.

Mounts

The player always uses a mount to play the myth, riding a horse as their first mount. Every four levels completed, Mouldywarp informs the player about a new mount to use for the next four levels. Each mount has its specific characteristics.
