Rondus

Rondus was a member of the Orbs, a photonic species from the Veraflex nebula.

Biography

In 2382, Rondus visited the USS Cerritos during the peace talks between the Orbs and the Cubes. Rondus was spotted by Beckett Mariner and Ensign Olly exiting the ship's locker room while it was not glowing, a state comparable to being nude for Orbs. The two found anti-Cube propaganda on Rondus' PADD when they searched the lockers. Quadralon, the offspring of the lead Cube was thought to have gone missing during the peace talks, and Olly and Mariner suspected Rondus of foul play. Under interrogation, Rondus, bribed with the potential energy from some a Starfleet tricorder's power cells, claimed to feel blessed to be a part of the historic peace process, despite finding Cubes weird and stupid-looking. Rondus denied its involvement and supported an end to the hostilities, planning to destroy the propaganda in a display of solidarity with the Cubes.

Rondus fled its interrogation and informed Spheronius and the other Orbs that they were being accused of murder, specifically by Olly. This information significantly escalated tensions between the two groups into open conflict. Rondus joined the other Orbs in the ensuing "shape war" throughout the Cerritos, and subsequently forming the multi-Orb construct Orbiculus before the situation was diffused.
