Lotion was a type of liquid that was used for massaging a person or for moisturizing one's own skin.

In 2370, Odo became annoyed when Jadzia Dax and Kira Nerys discussed epidellic lotion just prior to the latter woman's impending transfer, asking, "How can you be chatting about skin lotion at a time like this?" (DS9: "The Circle")
